The first privately operated spacecraft to dock with the ISS.  I consider that the most important thing that the ISS has done in its entire existence. NASA has grown moribund, with a broken safety culture and no clear vision. I wish the Space X all possible luck. The Auld Grump |

Step 1 Complete.  Step 2 Dragon carries Passengers... Step 3 Bigelow puts up the 1st Commercial Space Station (via SpaceX). Step 4 See rest of Solar system...!

2001 does kind of forshadow a lot of what's currently happening. From them having iPads, to them riding up to NEO on Pan Am, Kubrik did some of the best logical future gazing around (though he did get the date about 20 years to soon (I hope! ))
