Here's my 2nd acquisition in my quest for vintage 25mm miniatures: Sorry for the blurry pic, I grabbed from the Ebay listing. Not too shabby; came to $47 with shipping. Sealed, unopened, mint! ![]() A few months back I scored a Grenadier set; Dungeon Explorers for ~45. Box was old, opened and some of the figures were a bit worn out, but they were unpainted. I also got a couple of re-cast sets from Megaminis; the Grenadier classics. Sometimes mid-life crises can be fun! ![]() ![]() |

Ah yes, the Steam Cannon - I had one, back in the day. Used it a lot with the first edition of Battle System by TSR. On the other side was a War Machine that used a dragon skull as its front shield, also by Ral Partha. ![]() The Auld Grump |

Ooo, I must do a search for that War Machine set ...errm, after I finish painting the 50+ figures I have sitting on my shelf mocking me and my lack of free time ![]() I'm currently about halfway thru the Dungeon Explorers set, but my speed at painting has been picking up lately, just need to 're-learn' some techniques from 20+ years ago ![]() |

Welly well! I come home from work this morning, checked the mailbox and lo & behold; it hath arrived: I was a bit worried when I heard some un-nerving clanking from inside the box; and even more so when I saw that the set came packed in a styrofoam clamshell insert! Luckily, no damage to the figures whatsoever. I had to bend back in shape the vent on the boiler, and the ram hangy-type thingy, but that's to be expected for an almost 30 year old metal casting ![]() ![]() Will update this thread with pics of the Dungeon Explorers when the whole set is painted, then pics of this set when it's done. ![]() |
