Well, my first set (of many) of D&D Tiles arrived today Wilderness: Can't wait to thrash.. er... 'nurture' the kids in D&D for years to come... Mwahahahaha.. did I say that out loud? |

You will have to let us know what you think about them in comparison to WWG stuff. I found the D&D sizes to be odd and the textures in the set I picked up to be lacking. They seemed good for a quick purchase, but not worth a huge investment to me. |

That's a great summary, badula. I used to use preprinted play tiles/mats and still do very occasionally if I don't have suitable WWG material to hand. Every time I do these days, I find myself missing the WWG quality on the table. I get round this by adding 3D elements (WWG props) which help the layout 'pop' into life on the table. It's funny to remember back to how cool I thought the first preprinted layout I got was, and then to compare that with what I'm used to seeing on the table now. |

Yeah...I am a completist when it comes to owning D&D products, so I do buy them, but when I think about using them I often do not...I have even done the "imagine this..." with players rather than use the tiles. The 3D elements are horrible and no comparison to WWG. EDIT: The other thing I detest is the double-sided nature of the tiles. I understand the reasoning for it, but for me I always seem to find myself wanting to build a layout with something on both sides of the tile. I could just buy multiple sets, but it is better for me to just print a TLX tile of what I want. |

I got these to have something easily portable and quick that the kids can't easily rip. When TCP versions come out I'll be getting those. ![]() The 'Dungeon Master Set' and 'Shadowghast Manor' have now arrived. ![]() |
