I would like to know who is interested in joining a campaign set in Eberron that would be conducted as a combination of forum use, Maptool (or similar) and Skype (or similar). As a teacher, this would not likely start until late May/early June and only be a few months (we could reevaluate at the beginning of the school year). As of now, I am thinking it would use 4e mechanics. Edit to add players interested: Sargoto Kane taggart6 yosefbender zachol Zendril_the_rogue Aurick912 |

This would have been fun, but I'm fully committed these days. Hope you get a great group of players. |

Sounds fun! Hope I have the time for it when it starts, but count me in for now! |

I'd be down but it depends on what the commitment will be like. Any chance we can use vent instead of skype? |

Vent is fine. It is all a matter of what I have available to me as options at the time (like the D&D Game Table Beta access, for instance). |

if it's a campaign with heavy role-playing elements full of player character subplots, NPC that are protagonists that we see over and over again so that it a true epic tale I'm in for it, and will help. It would be nice if there was a way where the DM could privately talk with individual players and then the player through the character role-plays out what he has learned. I once had a sound system where I could turn a rotary switch and speak to the whole group or individual players, everyone had headsets and microphones we played background music just high enough so that you couldn't hear a conversation except through the headsets. I wish I had some of the game session recordings there was some spectacular acting and role-playing, there were gaming nights that the players were so in character that we never got out of the tavern with seen one, we were having such a blast. |

I figured that I should nudge this thread to see if interest is still there. I know we are still two months out, but I am looking forward to this. |

What do you guys think about using my current Obsidian Portal campaign page to support the game? I figure if it is a similar campaign, it will mesh nicely and if not, then the framework is still there to utilize and flesh it out as a great resource. Here is a link: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/14116 Also, I edited the first post to include all of those currently interested. |

Alright guys, tell me what you want for a campaign. What part(s) of Eberron do you want to delve into? What kind of characters are you thinking? If we can get a generalized discussion going then I can lead it in the direction of this campaign. Here is a link to the wiki: http://eberron.wikia.com/wiki/Eberron_Wiki |

The obsidian portal thing looked just fine to me. I have little to no exposure to Eberon so i was thinking it might be fun to play someone who knows very little about the outside world of his little town or community that way not only will the meta-game be harder to break for me Ill be just as dumbfounded the first time My character meets a construct. Generally I have played hybrid type classes in the past ya know, skilled in many trades but master of none mentality. I think that would most likely be my idea character class. Also not big into the idea of the constructs (big surprise) but open to any other race basically. I am a sucker for Planes, various planes of reality, plane hopping creatures from other planes etc. Hope that helps some? |

This would have some ("some") overlap with your other group, but I've always been a big fan of Sharn, and to a larger extent domestic political intrigue. Possibly with/against Aundair. Bizarrely, though, I'm contemplating some sort of straight-forward thinking fighter type. I tend to end up with the jumpy cautious talker, something like "has a big sword, likes hitting things with it" would be a fun change of pace. It's more that I've been wanting to play something like that for a while. Depending on where people want to go with the setting/themes (planar stuff sounds nifty), I could make something much more specific and appropriate. Or if nobody actually wants to be the talker, I could totally handle that instead (there's a reason I always end up playing one). |

Alright, Sharn it is. I would love to hear suggestions for days/times to play and what level people want to start at. Also, any other questions/requests would be great as well. |

I will put together a decent primer before we get started. Not knowing much about the setting shouldn't hold you back too much. You can learn as your character does. |

Sharn is a great big vertical city. Like a dense network of extremely tall skyscrapers, where all the rich people live at the top in floating towers or sky-yachts or whatever and if you can actually see the ground that means you're too far down and probably about to get mugged or something. e: To be clear, Sharn is like extra super urban. There's not going to be much in terms of traditional fantasy (sewers, maybe?). I'm not very attached to it, and some people might not like that sort of thing. |

The thing about any city is they need plenty of support networks to keep the populace like fed etc. Political intrigue would be kinda neat, plenty of back stabbing politicians, unclear motives etc. as for play times my work schedule has me pretty busy in the month of June, but clears up after that in the evenings on weekdays, otherwise weekends i am free and would be able to set time aside for this endeavor on a regular basis. (if the June thing is unacceptable i can sit on the sidelines and try to catch ya next time ![]() |

I would love to iron out a day/time form you guys. I would prefer it to be after 7 my time if possible, as that is when my daughter goes to bed, but I might be able to make another time work if needed. Last day of school is next week (then I teach summer school for a few weeks, but it is done at like 1pm). |

I'm in Japan, which is at UTC+9. Generally, my morning is the day before's night. I could do Saturday or Sunday mornings, which will correspond with Friday and Saturday nights in the US. 10 AM Saturday morning would correspond to 8 PM Friday night Central time (6 PM Pacific, 9 PM Eastern). I'd rather not start much earlier than that, though. |

Well, I have waited long enough. We need to get this thing up and going. Get your schedule requests in and we will figure out what is best for the majority. Right now it seems like Friday night around 9 or 10 EST (but that is just based on two people's votes). Also, with the release of the DDN playtest materials, do you guys want to still go with 4e or do you want to try the playtest out? It goes up to third level. There is a module for it, but there are also some basic monsters and therefore I could do my own thing if desired too. Is it unreasonable to say that if we go 4e to have a basic idea characters figured out by this weekend? Finalized characters not long after that for a start of next week(end) depending on availability? |
