I stumbled across this project on Kickstarter that is for an online steampunk game that centers all around airship combat. It's designed to be played multiplayer where a small crew of 3-5 players fly an airship and man the guns to try to take down other airships. They were going for an "old movie reel" sort of look with the video. It looks kinda interesting. Awesome idea! And really good styling so far. I hope the gameplay is fun. Even better if this was going to be an xbox live/ playstation network release. |

Looks like fun, though I wonder why no one was firing at the 'balloon' part (sorry, my combat airship terminology is lacking a technical term here). Seems like jacketed rounds (or even just heavy rounds, considering the presence of a *motorized rotary cannon*) would go right through any flexible material available to a steampunk aviator. Maybe everyone values the cargo on opposing vessels (assuming of course that the cargo is invulnerable to flame / large caliber bullets). Or maybe it's just an 'honorable combat' thing, like continental armies marching straight at each other with no attempt at cover. Just strikes me as odd. |
