4 fresh boxes of photo paper delivered today. I have a new box of X-acto blades waiting to be used. Coffee with amaretto. I should be cleaning house. ... Naaaaaah! Paper crafting wins! Flawless victory! |

Phew ![]() From the title I was dreading reading a post about a drunken attempt at cardstock construction that resulted in you slicing the tips off your fingers, covering your sets with blood and having to give up construction for two months while your fingers heal. Glad it's all good fun. ![]() P.s. remember to make it more coffee than amaretto, that way you'll be building right through the night, rather than falling asleep over your work. |

Heh, I haven't tried card modelling while imbibing, but it sounds fun. I was playing an online game the other night (Galaxy Online II) and realized from some of the things I was doing that the game doesn't mix well with jack & coke. |

Let's just say the 40-ish floor tiles I need for Shellendrak Manor aren't going to build themselves. |

So, as it turns out, the greatest challenge isn't avoiding cutting my fingers off ... it's avoiding supergluing my fingers together. ![]() |

Beer is good for steadying the nerves whilst cardstock modeling .. only drawback is the frequent interruption to use the bathroom ![]() |

I'm making a grand stair and really struggling with how this thing goes together. I think I may do a photo tutorial for anyone else who has never made one. The modular design is really cool, but hard to picture in advance what you're supposed to do. |

![]() @sunraven01: look forward to that tutorial. [40 tiles? at first I thought that would be massive, but then I got to thinking about it and doesn't sound that big - about 2 stories with surrounding ground? Only daunting when faced with making them all... yeah I haven't actually done a TLX build yet... still have that bit of virignity to loose...] |

I just got my four reams on Thursday. I haven't been able to break them out yet, but maybe some point today will be promising... |

I started printing some stuff thinking I would only print a few pages. This stuff is so much better than the cheapy stuff I was using that I have printed almost an entire ream already! The images are so crisp! |

It's pretty awesome, isn't it? The amaretto and coffee combination has been replaced by a fresh bottle of syrah -- my local wine store has a "wine of the week" program so this was the wine this week. Not going to be a favorite of mine, but plenty drinkable. |

I lost a lot of crafting time today to having to go get my hair cut (which is quite a drive to my stylist) so ... it's time to remedy that! Didn't there used to be some chat thing around here? I could go hang out in there! Then you could get my drunken crafty ramblings in real time! |

No chat feature in this iteration of the forums, but Skype could work. I believe my Skype name is Talae_ but my robocutter is too loud for actual voice chatting. |

Wouldn't you like to move to CT so I can abuse your robocutter? |

So, I'm a little embarrassed to admit that all I've gotten done in three days is half of a grand stair for Shellendrak! I got side-tracked by laundry and chatting with Talae last night. And then this morning, with most of the stair constructed, I realized it was wider than I was previously expecting, and so that prompted a re-design of the manor house. Sigh. More wine is needed! |
