After several years of hiatus it looks like I will be running my Christmas Hack 'n' Slash this year. Basic concept for this year is Battle For The Other Pole - with Santa's forces invading the South Pole, since the North Pole is currently melting. Santa, elves, halflings (children), dwarfs, a treant, and a hill giant (who defected to Santa's side many years ago at a previous Hack 'n' Slash). Orcs, evil elves, goblins, two ogres, and another giant for the forces of the Krampus. Neither side realizes that there is a dragon sleeping under the Pole itself.... Ho, ho, ho.... The Auld Grump |

Awesome. Is that a real krampus mini or something else that looks exactly like one? |

Very small scale skirmish wargame, using the Pathfinder rules. Each player either having one large mini or two smaller minis - Santa and the Krampus each counting as 'large'. Halflings and goblins come in threes. That is Reaper miniatures' Krampus, all official like and everything. ![]() The Auld Grump |

This is an interesting idea. Makes me want to do themed encounters for all my favorite holidays... |

And the winner was.... The Grumpy Dragon, who ate first the Krampus, then Santa, sending both forces into disarray. I think that the intent was that Santa and the Krampus meet in the middle to do battle. Instead they made enough noise that the dragon woke up and ate them both, nom, nom, nom.... ![]() Gods, I hate these smileys... nothing ever seems to fit.... I spent the rest of the party nursing one beer, worrying. Megan and Jackie met at the party, then went off to 'chat'.... Hopefully they were laughing at me behind my back, not plotting bloody vengeance of some sort.... The Auld Grump, actually I don't mind them laughing behind my back - the situation is pretty risible. |
