Well I put if off for a couple weeks after its release, but I now own Skyward Sword. Granted I am not that far into the game, just receiving the Goddess Sword and about to travel down to the surface. So far I have to say it is a great game. Also it is the 25th anniversary game, the original Legend of Zelda was released back in 1987, and as such the game includes a special 25th anniversary soundtrack (at least the initial releases), that includes music from some of the games including a redux of the original Legend of Zelda theme (preformed by an Orchestra, as with the other 7 songs on the disk). In all you have approx 45m of music spread out on 8 tracks.

As for the game itself as mentioned I am not that far into it but what little I have seen looks great, and the music in the game also sounds good so far. Your Wii Remote (either with the Motion Plus adapter or the Wii Remote Plus w/ built in Motion Plus) controls your sword swings, where s the nunchuck represents your shield and when you have your shield equipped and "punch" forward with the nunchuk the shield will allow you to deflect/push back enemies. It also appears that by collecting odds and ends in the game you can upgrade your equipment, though I haven't gotten to the point where I can do this yet, since I am still towards the beginning of the game.

I do know all/most the reviews I have seen for this game have given it a 10/10, 5 stars out of 5, etc... and from the little I have played (including the demo at a local Gamestop) I have to agree this game appears to be the Wii's Magnum Opus, it's a shame that the game comes towards the end of the current Wii's life, with the Wii U slated to come out next year.

As a fan who has played the Legend of Zelda games on every Nintendo System (other then the 3DS) from the original back in 1987 all the way up to the Phantom hourglass for the NDS in 2007 (granted I haven't played ever single one of the games), and now Skyward Sword.


Here's to another 25 years of the Legend of Zelda.

I looked at buying it but havn't finished twilight princes yet, I have lost all interest in computer games which is a shame because I like the zelda and have completer LTTP far to many times. I think it just that my wii looks crap on out HDTV.
