| Post subject: | Android/Kindle Fire Gaming? |
Recently got an Android phone AND a Kindle Fire. Trying to find some good games. Specifically something RPGish or, even better, tactical. Something like say...Conflict or Advance Wars or Shining Force...just something turn based and not overly complicated on the management end. Any thoughts? |

The Kindle Touch and the Kindle Fire have not yet made it to Amazon.co.uk  The Kindle Fire looks nice for an entertainment value and it would make my list before an iPad (as that is all I can see using an iPad for).I'd like to know what you think of it and how you use it. |

Its a fun gadget so far. Mostly been playing Plants vs. Zombies. Have been wanting to pick up PC Gamer on it, but broke at the moment. Facebook runs beautifully! Lots of free games too. Fruit Ninja is horribly addictive and of course Angry Birds. Need to try the PDF reader. |

On my Android, that I have only had for a month or so, I have been playing Words with Friends, Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, Zenonia, and Game Dev Story. I haven't played hardly any of them very much, but I don't feel so guilty about that since I only have the free versions of each. |

I was watching g4 and they recommended these for andriod: zombie gunship superbrothers sword scorcery infinity blade 1&2 I haven't tried them myself though. |

I miss read the title, I too picked up a Fire, and have been using mine for RPG gaming. Uploaded all of the books from the various games I play in, in the Docs Section and have found it very easy to read and reference from the fire. That is the only gaming i have done with mine. Looking up rules, stats, or reading up on the next system we will be playing. Must say it is awesome having all of the rules in my hand. I used to use a laptop for it, but the Fire is so much more portable than even a laptop... |

I was a bit baffled at first as my USB connector that I used for my camera did not seem to work. I found out there are two types of USB cables (ok more than two but two small ones for devices like this). The Mini (which is what a lot of cameras use, and what I had) and the . I just went out and bought a Micro and it plugs into the slot where you charge it, plug it into a computer you trust, and then turn on the Fire, it may need to install some software (on the computer), but after that it is just like any other USB external storage device. I uploaded some MP3s to my music shelf and put all of my PDF's of game books into my Doc's shelf. took a few minutes and was done (mostly finding where all of the pdfs where on different Flash drives). |

How do pdf's look on the Kindle Fire 7" screen? Also, what kind of anti-virus software is recommended for the Kindle Fire? It looks like an interesting inexpensive small tablet type thingy.

I THOUGHT it looked an awful lot like my phone charger (which is also a USB cord). Appears to be identical! Will give it a go. |

I would love to get a kindle fire but us UKers will get royally screwed on the price here (UK will cost double what the US pay (when you conver USD to UKGP! I'm using an 10" Superpad III running android 2.2 (haven't upgraded yet). Apart from angry birds I use it for Ebooks (manuals) and PDF's |

You got that right, over in the U.S. it's $200 but here in the U.K it will probably be £200.
