I want to like them, I know a lot of folks there that used to work at Borders. But... I have never gotten the coupons that you are supposed to get from their club, I have never been able to access their site, and as a whole the company seems poorly run. ![]() I may begin sending all my business to Amazon - which has had much better customer service, and has a website that is not unavailable for weeks at a time. (Not just me, I have found plenty of other that have had the same problems.) All in all... I wish that Borders was still around. The Auld Grump |

Books-a-Million used to be a good company in the last 15 years has gone totally down hill. |

Is books-a-million even still around? I think the last one closed here 6 years ago. Now all that's left is Barnes and Noble, and a couple independent booksellers. I too really miss Borders. |

Never heard of Books-a-Million. Maybe they aren't in my area yet. We have B&N, some small independent mom 'n pop types and then some places like Bookman's and Half Price Books that are primarily used book stores. |

Looks like they have two Websites...one has corporate info on it. Personally, unless I go to my FLGS and pick up game books, TPBs, or such, Amazon gets all my business. I rarely need a book right away, and if I do, I check my Kindle first... I do like to support the locals, but for commodities, it really does not make sense to me to try to find the cheapest price, all else being equal. |

A friend of mine used to work for Borders, now she is working at Books-A-Million.... Come spring she intends to start spamming her resume - she is not at all happy with the corporate culture of BAM. She is a pagan (more accurately, Alexandrian Wiccan), and BAM is very heavily Christian, Pentecostal Christian at that, with little tolerance for other religions, let alone Wicca. Even some Judaism is filed under 'New Age'. ![]() The Auld Grump, nice girl, one of the smartest, and snarkiest, people that I know. |
