Hmmm, so, Mantic is doing for the Christmas season.... A Mantic messenger bag, stuffed with, well... stuff. I kind of hope that it becomes a tradition - while I have no interest in these for myself I will be picking up several of them, slapping gift wrap around them, and giving them out. Or do a dip for the kids game - each kid getting to grab a sprue from the bag. (Congratulations Billy! You got a... it's a... maybe if you turn it sideways?... ![]() The Auld Grump |

Now that's a smart way to get some revenue for surplus stock. As long as there's enough variety in the bag then those should be good win all round. p.s. Just looked at their shipping rates: very reasonable (except for the much higher shipping rate for purchases from outside the UK that pay in GBP sterling - can't figure the logic behind that one.) |

I wish that more companies would do this kind of thing. Mantic just doesn't happen to carry a ton of what I would buy. It would be awesome if local game stores would do the same to clear their shelves of old stuff to make room for new. |

Well, you successfully triggered an impulse buy. I guess the worst that can happen is I'm getting a new messenger bag. Thanks for the heads up! I'm hoping to get some painting done over the holidays, anyway. |

Mantic figures aren't to everyone's tastes, but I like them. ![]() Their elves are not proportioned like humans - thin and spidery, they are an unpleasant lot, good for dark elves. (Though Mantic now has a line of dark elves.) Their dwarfs are blocky, with a 19th century industrial look to their guns. Their undead are fantastic! Among other things, their skellies would actually fit into a human scaled figure.... (Ever notice that GW skellies have bigger heads and hands than the humans?) And the orcs are... well, they are orcs. They look like orcs, and folks won't need to ask what those green skinned critters that are attacking them could be.... The Auld Grump |

I'm looking forward the remaining scifi races. I'm hoping they'll include something Tyranid-like. |

I think it's a good idea and I'd buy one for myself if I had the extra money. ![]() |
