The game releases on Steam in only a matter of hours. Who is picking it up? Also, I thought some would like to check out the live play-through that is currently happening: http://www.giantbomb.com/chat/ |

The Steam hacking happened about a week ago. I am not worried about it being any more dangerous than other online stores/forums. I will watch my purchase lists, but plan on playing Skyrim in like 5 hours ![]() |

Just a quick look at current reviews put them at: IGN 9.5 GS 9.0 GB 5/5 1UP A- Jim Sterling 10/10 And those are prior to day 1 updates/patches. It seems like it might be living up to the hype. |

I thought that I was looking forward to this. Today my roommate got a leatherbound journal to write in as his character. Now he's looking forward to this! The Auld Grump - three hours.... |

I have not been this anxious for a game in a very long time. Five minutes to my dinner being ready and fifteen minutes until Skyrim hits! I wish I had a better idea as to which race/playstyle to go with... |

I'm stuck at work while my Local Gamestop is opening as I type this for the midnight launch. I reserved the PS3 version; comes with a nice map for pre-ordering it. Come on 8:00!!!! |

I greatly enjoyed the hours I played before starting to fall asleep (I have been sick the last couple days). Tomorrow is another day of hoping to kill dragons. |

Well, I played 2 hours before posting that last post. Then, I proceeded to clean up a little before bed and found my way back into Skyrim for another 3 or so hours. I went to bed at 3:30 and am up at 8:15 and ready for round two. Today will be intermitten due to having my daughter home with me today. At 1 1/2, she doesn't quite get the "Daddy is busy saving the world from dragons, go play over there" line yet. |

Well, I've went ahead and bought it anyway (PC), I thought FallOut3 was great so I took the plunge... Even though my machine is a 3Ghz Dual Core with a nVidia 1Gb 8800GT card i have to have everything on medium to stop the framerate from jerking ![]() |

I have had a handful of crashes, but I am hopeful a fix will happen very soon. Overall, I am greatly enjoying the game. I am level 10 now and have only scratched the surface of the storyline (I just barely killed my first dragon...but have killed two giants and three mammoths!) |

Sounds like a fun game...I wish I had the time to dedicate to a new game; I still have games from last year I have not finished. |

In anticipation of playing this...some day, I started playing Fallout 3 on PC again. I had beat it on 360 and played through Anchorage on PC before I burned out. Going back feels like fresh yet familiar again. Love the atmosphere they accomplished despite the shortcomings. |

I just entered the Lonesome Road Yesterday, so I will wait awhile before picking it up. I still play Morrowind occasionally and still actively play Oblivion. Dagger Fall was my largest addiction out of all of them. |

I'm gonna pass as well. It looks amazing, but I'm more of a "shoot something with my uber blaster type of guy." I enjoyed fallout 3 and New Vegas. What I really want to see is Half-life 3!!! Your a nerd and you get to blow stuff up! How cool is that!! |

I've yet to pick up my copy. I was able to finish rage and uncharted 3 and ico. But I'm still working on MW3 and haven't done colossus at all. And those are just the games that just came out. |

I made it to level 11 and was feeling like quite the tough guy after killing 4 dragons. Then I went on a quest to retrieve a book, made it all the way to the end of the dungeon and the BBEG killed me in 2.5 seconds... repeatedly. I eventually managed to beat him, but it took me almost an hour of hugging a pillar with him on one side me on the other popping out occasionally to blast him and then ducking back and waiting for my Health and Magicka to climb back up so I could blast him again. Love the game so far. ![]() |

I have been having an awesome experience with my mage. I have done tons of cool stuff, but will hold back on sharing too much in fear of spoilers. On the flip side, I wish the loot was better. I guess that is one mod I am looking for. |

The attention to detail is amazing! Moving branches, dragonflies, thunder and lightning when raining, even fish leaping up a waterfall! I though FallOut 3 was good but this is even better. I especially like the dungeons, they are as D&D dungeons should be, full of traps like swinging axes and spikes shooting out of the walls. ![]() |

Post subject: | Re: Skyrim |
Im playing the PS3 version, and am so far loving it. I keep getting sidetracked from the main story and going on side quests; joined a 'guild' (the Companions), killed a mammoth, dabbled in alchemy, created some enhanced armor stuffs. This happened to me in Oblivion as well; put in over 700 hours in that game and STILL never finished the main story (had just he final Oblivion gate to close). Never got bored of it either. The best thing about Skyrim thus far is the revamped menu; I'm most appreciative that the game pauses while you choose a favorite (spell, item); especially nice during a heated battle .. the old reflexes just aren't what they used to be ![]() |

I am having serious withdrawals. Didn't get to game tonight due to real-life getting in the way. Maybe tomorrow night, but I am not holding my breath, as work as been over the top lately. On a plus side, we squeezed in the latest episode of Big Bang Theory... |

Of note: There's children in Skyrim! I've not read any reviews that mention this, but it's a big deal, since you could (if you were inclined to be evil, of course) murder a child!! I noticed the lack of children in oblivion and thought the world felt a little 'un-realistic', but figured the developers left them out for fear of players killing kids. </controversial subject> |
