A second for The Haunting (1963) and The Grudge The Univited (1944) wasn't very scary, but had some good psychological stuff in it at times. |

Maybe around holloween I'll finally feel like watching season of the witch or red ridinghood. One day by accident I ended up coming across a horror movie I was shocked to find was actually good. In the Mouth of Madness. However I cannot really remember if it was really a good movie or just surprisingly good for a movie I totally stumbled accross on a Saturday afternoon broadcast tv channel. |

Amittyville Horror is one of my all time favorites. How about The Fog (the original) or maybe The Mothman Prophecies. |

Maybe a Scooby Doo room, for those movies where it turns out that it wasn't a ghost.... The original House on Haunted Hill, a Three Stooges movie, Let's Scare Jessica to Death, a few others.... *EDIT* Separated from the old post - black against medium grey did not work to hide spoilers.... Poltergiest Poltergiest the series. FYI the Oridginal Japanese versions of grudge, ring, etc are supposed to be really scary and if the stocks every get rebuilt (no thanks to those *beep* rioter's) alot of the old very scary brain numbing stuff like Suicide club will be rerealesd. |

One last classic - The Old Dark House... Boris Karloff as an alcoholic caretaker of what may be a haunted house.... The Auld Grump, I was surprised that none of my players have ever seen it. |

Two late additions - for Foreign there is Happy Ghost.... A college girl goes camping near an abandoned monastery, not knowing the dark history of the place, and how a Ching scholar hanged himself there, with a rope that she uses to repair her backpack.... Oddly enough the ghost is quite happy to be disturbed, since this will give him a second chance. Trollhunter - really not in keeping with the rest of the movies. One of the players in the Tweens 'n' Teens game insists that I should see it.* The Auld Grump * I ran the kids game today instead of yesterday - a giant hunt. After searching for some time the characters heard a deep, deep voice saying 'Fe, fi, fo, fum'.... Most of the players laughed, but the kid playing the paladin said something that paladins should never say and told the spell casters to use every spell they could to get ready. 'This isn't just a giant! It's legend!' What can I say? He was right. ![]() I used the Otherworld Giant for the encounter. by TheAuldGrump, on Flickr |
