Went to see Cowboys & Aliens this morning... awesome **MODERATED** movie, it certainly gets my vote for brainless fun with a few bits that pushes it into "better movie" territory... |

Cowboys & Spacehulk... there is a sequence where I swear the characters were counting squares.... It did seem like Harrison Ford wished that he was elsewhere though, and his [spoiler]heel-face turn[/spoiler] was not all that believable. 
Fun, but.... The Auld Grump, coulda been at a local brown coats meeting, but noooo, I thought C&A would have some of that same buzz.... |

I also enjoyed District 9, very much. as to Cowboys & Aliens: a fun romp, lots of boom, but as others said don't look for a lot of thought. My SoD broke down when I saw that the aliens' structural metal could handle the stress of takeoff thrust on moving struts, but fell apart when shot by a 750 ft/sec. .45 lead slug. Ah, oh well, if I want an attempt at physical realism I'll reread the Lost Fleet.
