I'm liking these new pieces much better than the first ones. Maybe I'll reconsider getting a case.

I think that zombie looks like he's the point guard on the Pathfinder basketball team. He's just released the ball and he's waiting to see if it goes in.

At least they're using their heads and making the figs we're more likely to want a bunch of in game as the more common minis in the set. It was awfully frustrating with DDM to have to pay premium prices for something like an ogre or troll because WotC made them uncommon or rare. Then again, with the prices that Paizo has advertised for these, I'll still be paying $6 for a large sized ogre or troll--and will have no guarantee that I'll get the ogre or troll I want.

It will be interesting to see what the secondary market runs for these.

My FLGS has already sold a case, and they are still months away. (I actually expect Spring, not Winter for the release.)

The Auld Grump, and Pathfinder rated higher on ICv2 than 4e, again.... Off to game (starting late, running until midnight or so, and I get to play my paladin).

The Guard with sword reminds me so much of Dirk the Daring...

That is great news. I would gladly pay ~$3 for a mini that I plan on using that is pre-painted. I wish that I could fill out my collection with minis I need at prices like that.

I just got my Basic character set.

Paint jobs are... okay - a very small amount of slop. Fine detail a bit off - I suspect that a lot of folks will need to repaint eyes so that they are looking the same direction....

Really need washes.

Better than any of the D&D prepaints that I have seen.

Scale looks to be slightly larger than the WotC figs, about the same as Reaper.

I saw the Character Pack at my game store today, it looks nice. I don't need more characters, though, I need more critters...

Ok, that's the first set of figures that I said, "I want it." But I think I'll look for the secondary market.

Hmmm, interesting - I thought that the Pathfinder figures had okay paint jobs, but apparently there are a fair number of folks who rate them much better than I did. Reviews seem to be consistent in the 4.0 to 4.5 range, going from 1 to 5.

So, for folks that prefer to purchase, rather than paint, I guess they are pretty good. (Ye gods, I hate these smilies.... none work for what I want to express. They fill me with rage.)

Me, I still think that they are just 'okay'.

I never look for anything great from the prepaints. If I want a figure that attracts attention, I will paint it myself. From the prepaints I just want something that looks like what it is, and doesn't offend the game gestalt too much.

The first figures that I saw in this series looked too much like cartoons for my gritty game. But, things like skeletons and giant spiders I can use in great quantities.

Picked them up, they are very nicely painted, very articulate for pre-paints.

I don't like the little black discs under the feet, but that's a personal meh.

I want some, I just can't decide how many to buy of which ones. Any suggestions?

I can see these working for a number of editions of D&D, from those that used minis in 1stand 2nd to very useful in 3rd and 4th.
A slew of them can be used to mark the boarders of spells. Grab the Plant vines and use them to mark off the area of entangle (yeah to do the boarders would take 12 but it’s not undoable), you could instead just grab 6 to place adjacent to those that failed their saves and are stuck. You could use 4 for zone markers in 4th, the dark tentacles can be used the same way for a certain 3rd ed spell with a very similar name.
Besides area markers don’t forget the fact that the plants work great for the tendrils on a Tendriculos, Assassin vine, or any number of plant based monsters. I know I will be combining them with the Elven Terrain from Dwarven Forge to be grasping vines that come out of the walls to menace PC’s, or use them with Hinterlands.
The various Kraken in a group of 8 works great for the arms of an Octopus or squid coming over the side of a boat. I can see theses being very useful in the up coming Lair Assault.
The other world is going to see triple duty in my games for Cuthulu, Deadlands, and Star wars based parts of creatures. I can finally run a Dianoga the way I want to now with these minis.
These are getting used in my Star Wars, Deadlands, Heroes (the Cuthulu based game), Pathfinder and D&D. That’s just my games. I can see these getting modded and stated for things like Heroscape and other miniatures games as well.
I can’t wait to see what this company has in coming up next, I placed an initial order of 4 each to see what the quality is in hand. If it is good I plan on picking up 4 more Krakens, 2-4 other world, 2-4 dark tentacles (depending on how easy they are to cut for use in modding various other figures) and about 4-8 more vines as they look just so useful for modding are nice figures.
