One thing that worries me is that there aren't that many unit maneuver based fantasy wargames left.

Off hand there is Warhammer (getting sillier and sillier) and Kings of War.

Battlesystem isn't even available as a PDF anymore.

There is going to be release a unit based battle system for Song of Blades and Heroes. It's in the final point balance stage of testing.

War of the Ring? I did enjoy that game despite its (supposed) lack of balance and (very true) contradictory rules.

Finally got around to the FLGS to see these in person today. They were very flashy (in the sense that they had a lot of flash on them not that they were snazzily dressed). At $19 for a single figure I'll safely be passing. Makes me all the more confident in my decision to start sculpting my own figures...

How many figs in resin to a troy ounce? If there is more than 1.5 then you would save money getting raw silver than buying from GW, let alone Kneadatite.... Daft!

Oh yes I did!

The latest stunt pulled by GW has made everyone I know switch to Infinity. If they charged a fair price, it wouldn't be an issue but when they take advantage of the exchange rate and force sellers in the EU to keep it in the EU while the mugs here in Australia are paying about double for the exact same product, I gave 'em the boot. I hope a lot more people do as well until they pull their heads in.

The detail between Infinity models and GW is really quite amazing, it's also the main contributing factor to me coming to WWG too - for urban skirmish terrain so thank GW for leading me here ;).

over the Finecast quality as well.

Looks like GW is finally putting some effort into QA. While the local store has cut way back on Finecast what they have been getting is much better - the owner thinks that some of the molds are being remade, hopefully with better gates. No returns the last couple of orders.

I've worked with resin before, from Forgeworld, and know how to deal with it. A friend asked me to paint up his Finecast Bloodthirster for him. I did some reading on how to glue it together, and prime it, and there didn't seem to be any mention of any issues as with gluing and prining Foregeworld resin. Most people said superglue and GW primer worked just fine.

It didn't. I ended up having to pin every glue joint. When it came to priming, the primer just ran off without sticking, even with washing the figure in warm water and soap. I ended up using Rust-oleum sandable primer (in brown) and it worked beautifully, just like the forgeworld stuff.

I still curse Finecast. It feels flimsy. I am seriously considering gluing a big old washer under the base to give it some weight so it doesn't tip over.
