Ah, very good! Theirs a local Tiki Bar (??) that is owned by some Germans, and Saturday/Sundays for football games they go off on a the German fare! (Kinda strange eating platesfull of German specialties on a beach in 100 degree weather, but it works for us ) Was a little dissapointed that Wiener Schnitzal (sp?) was basically a tasty pork chop , it sounded so grandiose!

Well, I think its way past time that they label just where our food is coming from ... and where the heck is all of the food grown here going (aside from ethanol). The quality of our food processing is terrible too. I can remember high quality vegtables ... tell me it isn't hard to find decent spuds, for one example. Where's the real chocolate, cheese, and a ton of other items they have messed around with. I tell you, if you want safe food you are going to have to grow it yourself. I am very serious about that.

I don't rant well (and I'm exhausted) ... you should be doing this, Smokey. You pack so much more into it. But hey, like I said, these are serious issues. Care to comment ....

Well, I'm not touching that until I've had my fill of Sonic Corndogs (Lord only knows what I'm eating their, but they are so darn tasty). I boycotted potatos for almost two years! Mainly to prove a point to the missus, I got tired of cooking up a main course, them waiting for the darn potato side dish to cook! I even had a catch phrase: "I don't wait for potatos!" Eventually, my love of Cod and chips put the 86 on that boycott! (and "Tots" weren't included in the ban, I grandfathered 'em in)


I eat mainly fish I catch and good old American, Argentinian or Australian beef. And Chinese and Tai, I'm addicted to good Tai!!! Maybe after a big old mound of Sonic, I'll take over your rant, Delta. I'm about overdue for a rant. Still feel I didn't express how evil and vile cheesecake and cake in general are. I hate them!

Dude, there are about 15 Sonic fast food places within a 10 square mile in my town. Yeah, it's good. But when is good too good?

During WWII the Russian guardians of their seed bank starved to death in the winter before they would eat the seeds they held for future generations? And now those future generations have let that very seed bank rot! And the United States has neglected to fund their seed banks sufficiently.

The big GM seed companies are buying up and closing the self pollination seed companies? And they don't allow you to save their seed ... no,no ... you come up with the money or you don't plant. Does a Corporation lock on food scare you as much as it does me? Thank goodness Europe is resisting such insanity. It is a very long story as many of you already know.

Nope, the news blurbs are the sad truth.

Several things worry me about GM crops ...
[1] Coupled with shrinking biodiversity, GMs very uniformity is a terrible threat to our food supply; one pathogen can wipe out the entire crop and there would be no way to easily replace it.
[2] The uncontrolled spread of these crops into other fields.
[3] The 'junk' DNA they use in them without knowing what they are doing.

While it can be good or bad, I much prefer the system in the UK where food is required to state if it is GM modified. In the US, I really don't know what I'm getting when I buy food from a grocery store. I don't know what things are like in your part of the world Teaflax, but over here, it's pretty bad, and I prefer to avoid GM food here.
