space hulk really rocked the rules were simple and didn't hurt the brain
they made several games that were ruined because they just couldn't leave the rules alone.
gothic battle fleet & a dungeons game i think it was called hero quest or dungeon quest.
they stayed in the catalouge for a couple of years then got dumped

Is GW stuff cheaper at their stores ( , I 've never heard of a retail store except from you guys, so I think its a West Coast thing, plus it sounds like you walk in an A: the place is deserted and/or B. a bunch of guys in red start doing something to you, from accounts I've read.).

A couple games stores and hobby shops have their Warhammer and 40k stuff, and it seems so expensive I don't even give it a second look. Space Marines (good and bad I presume, red and blue) sets of about 16 figures, and a land tank kinda thing costs around $200 dollars (I think it comes with paint in each set and rules ).

I don't have an opinion about the company, 'cept that "3 pieces of unmatched, pointlees, cereal boxes could suffice, terrain" that they use here at Cons that looks ridiculous.

But the cost seems extreme. I'll bet a complete army could be a thousand bucks???

I wish I knew why the GW games I enjoy seem to get cancelled. I never really got into WH/40K in a big way (it was always too expensive to get a decent army - by the time I'd built them up I'd got bored and want to collect something else), but Necromunda, Mordheim, Space Hulk, Warhammer Quest, Man O' War, Gorka-Morka and probably a couple more that I can't remember off the top of my head were all great fun.

Necromunda and Mordheim are still produced. They may not be as heavily supported as before but they are still sold by GW/SG and the Specialist Game Forum is the only one left in the GW aresenal except I think Black Library has one.
