At least it got me out of bed though

My coffee was a comfort drink this morning, not the normal life-giving-nectar as I was wide awake. The radio station I have it turned to isn't the best music, but it falls nicely between an annoying bleep and a good song. If I enjoy the songs too much I go right back to sleep so it's good when they play stuff I don't like... makes me get up to turn it off

Anyway, right now I'm listening to Kylie Minogue "Can't get you out of my head"

Portishead is my favorite mood-music/ 007 gets pensive escape...

Fields of the Nephilim!!! Good God, that band recalls the Sisters of Mercy early 90's days of sporting the "duster" and Shadowrun campaigns that lasted past a few sessions...

The Cure... Head On The Door when I need it, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me takes care of all other cravings...

And we cannot forget "Straight outta' Compton, crazy muthaf***a named Ice Cube, from a band callled Niggaz With Attitude!!!" AHHHH... The days when the Dre-Easy-E divide didn't exist, both were alive, and Snoop hadn't broken wide...
And Flava-Flav was considered an artist instead of a reality-show womanizer, and Chuck-D and a "Nation of Millions" meant something...

I'm hopelessly behind now, since many years spent living out of the back of a van, lugging amps, playing shows, and wondering which city was next on the "itinerary" caused my aversion towards the endless demo cd's pressed into my hands, a disdain for all things "scene"- related, and a diversion towards a career spent building things... (I'm just getting old...)

Alright, ENOUGH reminiscing!!! I'll throw down the gauntlet with my top THREE bands of all time... <gulp>

<eep!> that makes no sense, other than the fact that these three have garnered the most play-time, solo car sing-alongs, cd wear-out, memory-induced moments, or other random music-induced memories... Trust me, it could very easily have been a top-ten, or twenty, or 100 for that matter... But I hate lists, so it's three-and-out, and the rest be damned...
(The Damned! There's one for Honorable Mention!!! Oh well...)
