I have been working on a fantasy adventure boardgame for some time now and would like to get some feedback before I progress too much further. If you are interested place a post here, and I will send you an email with what I have ready to work with. If your email is NOT in your profile or the address given there is not where you want me to send the files say so in your post.

What I will be sending to the play testers is the rules to play the game, a complied list of what will be the cards in the finished game (I have hired Highland_Piper to design the cards for me, they are being made at this time) and a set of cardstock dice that can be printed and cut out (thanks to Thomas), the game can be played using WWG terrain and minis you already own. I will not be sending any prewritten adventures or scenarios as different people will have access to different sets and figures.

Would love to give this a go, but will need to be something I can play with my kids - Talisman is their current favorite boardgame, but they also play the old I.C.E. boardgame 'Riddle of the Ring', so they're fairly boardgame capable.

They would love to try out another fantasy adventuring board game - so would I for that matter.

All of the above, and then some. Any and all feedback is welcome, some points that I am really interested in are:
Do you think it is appropriate for your children? (Or what age do you think this game would be appropriate for?)
Do the rules flow, or are the clunky and slow down play?
Dose the game encourage or discourage creative play and thinking?
Do you find any other weaknesses or errors within the rules that I have missed (including typos and misspelled words)
My goal was to have a simple system that was easy to use but still allowed flexibility and customization, do you think I succeeded?

I have a general plot arc for what will be the three adventure books that will come with the game as well as rough sketches for what may become expansion adventures. They are nothing to celebrate over but I can provide them if asked. I would have to type them out because right now they are all in my various notebooks and binders for the game and its many versions over the past few years.

Edit (And I can't belive I forgot this):
I have tried my best to make my game original. I do not want to have a heroquest/decsent/whatever clone, that is one reason every spellcaster in the game uses magic in a different way even if only slightly (the second is that I ALWAYS think that two different magics should be... well different). Once I start getting some of the expansion characters out for playtesting I hope you will see how the various characters are different in more ways than a spell list.
If you do not feel this game is original please say so, I do not own every fantasy adventure boardgame out there (I have never owned or played Warhammer quest for example) so I can only compare against those I am familiar with. If there is something that I thought was original but turned out was not please let me know so that I can go back and revise it.

Is this a coop game? Does it require a GM?

Yes, as of right now I do not have any solo rules in this game (though I do have another I am working on that uses a variation of this game's system and it has campaign, random/solo, and one shot rules)

Whether or not I add solo rules to this game depends mostly on what the finished gameboard will be like, and as of the current moment I have little more than a couple half baked ideas for the gameboard. Once I get something firm down I will have to rethink the whole solo/random play idea.

... not that this helps, but I exchanged a half-dozen emails with Zen about a week ago, including sending him a spreadsheet, and that was the email address that worked. My first effort failed, but he left off the "m" in "draperm". So I think you have his address correct. Perhaps his email account won't allow large attachments?

Try sending him just a text email as a test to see if that gets through. My email to him (with attachment) was under 500K and you attachment is just over 500k. That could be a magic number for his email provider.

That could be the problem, though I'd be surprised, as I've received 1MB e-mails on that account.

Thanks heaps for editing that post. It seems almost impossible to keep an e-mail address spam free, so anything people do to help keep it below the spam radar is greatly appreciated.

My daughter enjoys boardgames too, and D&D, so she will be one of the play testers. Will let you know how it goes.
