I did some spring cleaning yesterday and finally tackled a glass cabinet that we usually call the Horror Cabinet. It holds all those tidbits that none of our family dare throw away ... and look what I found in the most recessed corner. A bit squashed but otherwise still ok - my first self created paper models:



I always loved knights and castles. I did this in 5th grade (1976). Sketched the buildings during school and built them at home Near the well is a Euro 2ct coin for size comparison. Also note that all towers have crenelations and that the draw bridge was working. There once existed a tiny knight on horse that could be moved around with a magnet ... I guess he went off to rescue the fair princess somewhere.


and here your average town including two balsa wood cars: the little orange and a power shovel. There also used to be a fire truck which is now lost. Above to the right of the orange car is an overlay with flames I could put over one of the smaller houses. The colors faded a little but otherwise ...
The cars had a little bit of iron wire underneath and could be moved with the magnet (red thing)

Btw. all was glued with Denny's favorite glue UHU ... very durable I should say

Did you do it with 5 years? Wonderful. And now I know that I am the useless one.
