I am burned out on RPG's right now. I am not as pleased as I thought with D&D 3.5 although I do run a campaign for my BIGs (Built In Gamers.... what parents won't do cause they love their kids), but my energy and $$ is going to Wargames at the moment.

I just received and realized that there's no terrain from WWG for it. Unless of course, the ships get stuck on the Planet of the Giants....... But I'm going to pick up being a Starfleet Battles fan (but not having the time to have a war that lasts 1 year and I only killed 2 ships).

And then there's the fleet boxes for Each........ $99.95 MSRP..... for each fleet, then there's reinforcements boxes.... $39.95 MSRP........



Here I go ranting again. Man am I tired...... things will get worse at the end of the month when I start my new position.... instead of 40-50 hours per week, it's gonna go to 50-70 hours.... Geez.

All I wanna do is play wargames.... who cares if Fortune 10 companies can't get their $billions$ through their networks .

I guess SG.... to answer your question... no I have not picked up the book yet. Wargames are my passion at the moment.

CC ... my interest is and has remained wargames (as opposed to RPGs) for many years now. But there are still too many genres that interest me, and not enough money or time to do them justice.

I was just curious if you got the book. I've learned the hard way that when it comes to gaming, you can't count on products being available all the time. Something comes out, you think to yourself "Hey, that's kinda cool, I should get that one day..." and then a year or two goes by. You finally remember you want it or could use it, and you go looking, only to find the compny went out of business, and you are stuck on ebay paying big bucks.

So I now try to either get something I think is cool soon after release, or pass on it forever (my list of things to get would be way too long if I kept adding to it).

I'm still half-tempted to get this. If it's the source of all knowledge and the best thing ever, perhaps one day I'll get back into RPGs and I will curse the day I let this one slip by. If it were just a nice product, or a pretty good product, I could skip it and life goes on. But damn ... this thing gets rave reviews.

Then again, bayushi thinks it's no good and a waste of money. Whew! Now I feel much better about passing this thing up

I wonder how good it would be to Savage it?

I still have very little interest in it as its another big ass book to have lying around. If I went the pdf option I think I would most likely forget half of whats ment to be in it, there is just way to much to buy.

Well Lord A ... it's already on sale for $85 which is a pretty good discount down from original list. A detailed book, maps, handouts, and a cd crammed full of stuff ... it's getting really close to reasonably priced.

In fact, I've paid $30 easy for a hardbound book with half that number of pages, so a reasonable price for this would be $40. I'd pay another $10 for the maps, and $10-15 for the handouts, and at least $15 for a cd crammed with stuff, perhaps $20. That comes to $75-85.

I was safe at $120, but at $90 (and you get $5 credit to your account for a discount off the next thing), it's now right there at my definition of reasonable. It's not cheap by any stretch, but it's now priced right for what you get.

And obviously, others have said it's to die for, is the best thing ever, and their players would crucify the GM if he sold his copy, so that tells me it's well worth a resonable price.
