I have been building a lot of cardstock scenery lately, mostly for Frostgrave but a bit for FiveCore. I forgot how fun and rewarding it is. I also do a lot of modifications, and am.learning to use GIMP more easily all the time. For instance, I am building some sampans I printed up a few years back. I intended them as swamp craft, and never printed the masts or sails. I never got around to the swamp project, so now I am building them for a Frostgrave scenario featuring wrecked ships and boats. It was only about 15 minutes of work to create distressed sails from the full sails in GIMP, I had the printed today and have been adding them to the boats. It ais almost as fulfilling as painting miniatures, with a lot less finesse and brainpower required.

Why do I say cutting cardboard? Once upon a time, my date arrived at my home about 45 minutes early and I had all of my cardstock projects in progress on the table as I was working on them. She asked me about it, I referred to it as "cutting cardboard." She insisted I continue for another half hour, as she wanted to watch. She was totally fascinated by it.

So, I gotta ask: how did the date go afterwards?

That's a funny post! Never thought about a date using papercraft.

But a little tip to impress people with your papaercraft hobby: I always have ready cut figures from EDDNIC at hand. When you bring that Standees "live" in 3D shape, everybody who sees this is impressed (that even worked with my parents and that really means something because I am also a Magician... so they saw a lot of magical things in the last years.

In Germany we sometimes ask a girl after a date "Do you like to see my stamp collection at home" That reminds me, that I store my flat standees from Okumarts etc. in a stamp album...
