Yeah, I'm constantly invited to wargaming, including WH6, Malifaux, etc, and I keep having to turn them down. It's just insanely expensive. While I do buy occaisional WH or Malifaux minis for my RPGs, the thought of plunking down the minimum amount of cash to field a wargaming army is just mindboggling.

Meanwhile I can still buy Chronoscope minis (which suit a lot of my purposes) for around $3.99 . An equiavlent Malifaux mini is about $7.99 ... It just gets harder and harder to justify.

There are certain paper equivalents that work just fine for Warhamster and KoW - One Monk comes to mind.

This is especially true for Kings of War, where the casualties are not removed from the movement tray.

Heck, the first time I tested out the KoW rules I did not even use standees, just rectangles of paper with labels. (And thought of it as a flaw, at the time.)
