Daz 3D is offering membership in their this weekend - I am pretty sure that there are some Bryce users here (hi Paul), and at 50% membership is pretty much a good thing. Lots of stuff runs at $2 for members, some at less.

The base human figures were recently made into free downloads.

The Platinum Club is a discount club for 3D models for programs such as Bryce and Daz 3D, getting a short membership and downloading the discounted stuff can add up pretty quick - for example, they have a fair selection of steampunk terrain, vehicles, and figures.

They even recommend joining with a friend and sharing what you get - what would be piracy, if they weren't recommending it.

Bryce is a trifle beyond my abilities, though I have a slightly out of date version, but I am tempted anyway - the price is good, and I may take a while trying it out, someday....

The Auld Grump

Bryce may be beyond my current ability, but Daz Studio is pretty easy - and free.

And I lied, somewhere along the line I did pick up the most recent version of Bryce, and even updated it, probably when I started loading programs onto my laptop before Christmas. (In my memories it got buried beneath a pile of updates, installs, and compatibility changes.)

When my new desktop arrives in a few weeks I will probably go through the whole rigmarole again.

Spent more than I planned - around $50, mostly on specials. Which were then followed by a bunch of free 'but wait! There's more!' selections. Enough to keep me busy for a while, if I can find the time to be busy in....

Spent too much time playing with Daz... time to sleep. Five a freakin' clock in the morning....

And I just found a buried e-mail giving me the serial number for the free download of Bryce 7 that I got....

Then I had to dig to find the e-mail telling me that I had a free copy of Bryce 7 to download. They have been sitting, buried, in my e-mail for months....

*EDIT SECONDUS* I found the e-mails because I am slowly transferring files and programs to my new computer. For once I could sleep, but instead I am transferring files. Where is insomnia when I need it?
