Interesting things about this new product:
- Hairpins are used as the clipping device
- Visual overlays?
- Connectors in the center of the base tile, instead of only at the edges.
- Smooth Edges. No grooves needed for the Clips.

What you are talking about is a PDF product that actually would not compete with TerraClips.

As for using hairpins... Check out the clip it system from the WWG terrain from almost 10 years ago. . The system works but is not nearly as clean or flexable as the current TLX system. That's what it looks like this would be competing with.

FDG have been around a bit. Not a good comparison to TerraClips since it's not a actual physical product that you put together out of a box. It's along the lines of TLX's predecessors as ScrubKai noted.
