| Post subject: | War of the Burning Sky meets TerrainLinX (D&D 4E) |
My group is running through the excellent EN World module War of the Burning Sky and I am attempting to build actual terrain for all the combat encounters, to add to the immersion of the module. I plan on using this thread to share both the TLX Planner files and photos of my builds in case anyone else is planning on running the module. Since the given battlemaps in the adventure don't helpfully adhere to the TLX 6x6 specifications, I've had to re-do a lot of the maps for the combat encounters. (Ahem. Curved walls. Just sayin'.) Pictures to come! |

Which module are you working on? As A side note: I considered doing some sets for this, but I have never managed to get around to it.... |

So far my group has finished the Poison Apple Pub encounter, and is going to start the Gate Pass Depository encounter on Saturday. I'm building the depository this week, but I had to do some pretty big modifications to the battle map, due to that whole curved walls thing. That's the layout that I did for the Poison Apple Pub. Since I knew the encounter didn't extend to the second floor of the pub, I didn't actually build it out. The snowy ground tiles are from Dwarven Kings, the walls are from Himmelveil Sewers, and the interior floors are Himmelveil Streets. I don't think my players even noticed that the walls weren't really interior walls. The start of the depository -- first picture is pre-assembly, and the second picture is the tiles for the first floor. I used Himmelveil streets and Dwarven Kings again. |

Here are three photos of the first floor of the depository, including my front door that I cut to have the ability to open and close. http://www.losingrachel.com/Losing_Rach ... ain.html#9 And ... I ended up not building the second, third, or fourth floors because I ran out of time. The upper floors on the game map included in the module are just copies of the lower floor anyway, so my players will never know the difference. The planner file I linked in the previous post has the floor graduate in size, and two different builds for the second and third floor. One uses TLX balconies, and the other uses the 3 inch wide hallways as balconies. If you choose to build it out, you have your choice of how to do it. |
