I am not sure if this is a "real" speed mount, as i have made mine to work with tabs, if it is a static non tabbed build for speed mounting this may be a hybrid... The 3x5 completed with floor tiles on them The 2x5 mounts only, the larger one is done the same way, pretty much, I like doing the 3x5 as a sheet of foamcore is 30 x20 inch so on side is 5 mounts/floors. When done all tab slots on outer edge will be removed, just didn't do it for the pics. |

I like what Ghenghis_ska does with a larger layout piece which has the ability to link with the TLX system. I will probably utilize that once I get a cheaper source for my foam core. But Don't plan on making any single tiles that are lager than the TLX tile. I have a large space ship "Bone Yard" on an over industrialized (raped) planet. Many encounters will happen there. The speed mount method combined with G_S hybrid will fir my needs nicely. I will still be able to a vast open area but be able to place props, cliffs, etc. I used the Mars Station model set for my first encounter with the group who went quickly to the ship they are going to clear and refurbish. Other than a few "Hobo" encounters I really didn't have much for them but pictures, yet with this method I can make a general terrain which can be added to with props and TLX dressing. Hopefully ![]() Dennis |

A good trick to help cur down on warping is to always glue on the "crown" of the tiles. All foam core has some warp to it, so be fore you glue any thing down set it on a level surface and figure out which side has the bulge/lift at the center of the tile and glue on that side. This helps prevent warping and can pull a high crown down flat. |
