Short answer no.

I'm not sure if you picked up the TLX Planner software yet but that will reveal the problem with omitting notches pretty quickly. If you remove any of the slots from a standard 6" tile you'll cripple modularity. It has to do with how the entire system slots together to create larger modular structures. The only way to have the system scale is to have everything balanced against 3", interlocking intervals.
