by "3x3" do you mean 3 inch x 3 inch or 3 feet x 3 feet? |

Hi haltlisten, the costs are really an individual thing because it depends on your printer and accessoires. I minimised my costs in that way: - printer with single colour cartridges (and ability to use no original cartridges) - buying paper in a higher quantity - I use Cardboard instead of Foamcore when possible Example: - My first printer was an Epson Prixma with a complete cartridge for all colours. Cost of two cartridges (b/w and colour) was € 60,- (that are ca. 150 pages for paper terrains or ca. 40 eurocent per Page). My new Printer is also an Epson Prixma but I can use other cartridges and single colours. A complete set costs now € 4,- (so that is now ca. 2 eurocent per page) - I buy high quality paper (160g/m²). My local dealer sells it in single packages = € 13,- for 250 pages (= 5 eurocent per page). I found an internet shop for office supply: 1250 pages for € 30,- (= 2,5 eurocent per page) - I sheet of Foamcore (60 x 100 cm or 2' x 3') cost € 8,- to € 13,-, the same sheet of cardboard (1 mm) cost € 1,40 and yes, tlx also works with that thick cardboard that is used in the terraclips sets. So I reduced my cost for printing from ca. 45 cent per page to 4,5 cent per page (DIN A4) simply in changing my sources. The same is for glue and blades etc... If you calculate a simple board of 1 m² (or 3 x 3) than the costs changed from ca. € 26,- to ca. € 3,- just because of different material and printig cost. That is a real huge difference, isn't it? I missed some facts in my calculation... of cours I have 36 pages to print (and not 16) and I need 2 Prints per Tile (because I need to glue paper on both sides of a cardstock tile otherwise it will wrinkle or get a bow in the middle), so all in all 72 pages. And I missed the glue of course (also a cost factor with that amount of pages). So the more correct calculations would be (incl. glue): ca. € 50 (or $ 54,-) with my old printer ca. € 8,- with my new printer |

All my builds are also at least partially 3D. So it would depend on height as well. It's more expensive to build my Mage tower, then a layout of grassland and trees. |

That is totally right! The cost really depend on the 3D structure but I thought that this is not the best way to compare the cost, because every structure is different. The only comparable factor is the basic board. I wish you a happy new Year! Wiesel |
