Anybody got any pix of how these are best used? The fact that they are all quadruple posts is fazing me. If I want to use them to support a double height wall at the edge of a room, I have nothing behind it to anchor the post on. Does that make sense?

Yeah, I thought that was odd, as well. I assume that they primarily made those for specific situations where you want double height walls and want to use those walkways from LotDG as well. That's why they have those extra gaps in the middle of some of those double height posts. I assume that they expect you to just use single height posts (and walls) with those "connectors" for when 4 way posts won't work. (those connectors are in the Props folder for LotDG)

Hmmm - interesting. I haven't worked with this set, so this may help - or may just muddy the waters more... Page 3 of the "Other Prop Instructions" shows placing some big-sized posts over/into/around some regular posts as a way to support the new-style catwalk balconies - hence, I suppose, the white rectangular cut-out areas midway up on the posts on pages 2 & 3. Page 3 seems to be meant as the mid-point post. Page 2 as the right end? In which case the left end seems to be missing - but you could flip page 2 as to left-right orientation. But, even the illustration draws don't seem to specifically match up with the way the posts are designed because the posts don't have the tabs shown . Maybe Denny can find the time to chime in, as it was his design - or someone else who has actually worked it. My cent and a half.

I used those double height posts with the catwalks in my Temple of Urgathoa build for Curse of the Crimson Throne. Here's the gallery thread for it: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12280&hilit=dragon+god The pics aren't all that great of quality, unfortunately. But those gaps in the double height walls are for the catwalks to fit in there. And that means you end up putting the pillars for the catwalks into the bottom 1/2 of those double height posts. I think that's what greypilgrim was talking about. And, yes, mproteau has done a lot of kitbashing of those catwalks, so he might be able to offer more advice.

Great build Ninevah, thanks for pointing me at the pix. The thing is, your design allowed for the use of the double height posts very well, and yes, that is an excellent way to use catwalks. The thing is, if you had wanted to use double height walls in the final room (the one with the lava triangles), I don't think it would have been possible. I may try and make some double posts of my own to allow me to do that. Pix to follow to show what I mean.

So, I can see that Ninevah understands the problem, but in case the rest of the readers here (all one and a half of you) haven't caught on yet, Pic 1 below shows a 12" by 12" room that I want to put high walls all around.

However, as shown in Pic 2, the only place a tall post will fit in the room is in the centre.

Even if I wanted a wall coming out of a centre post in that room, there would be nowhere to anchor it on it's other end, as shown in Pic 3. I have no idea why Messrs Unger and Cooper have done this.

Re: Tall Posts in LotDG

Now, I am a rubbish photoshop kitbasher, but quite handy as a physical kitbasher. I therefore took 3 single height 2-way post cutputs, reshaped a couple of them and then glued them together to form a tall 2-way post. Unfortunately, a tall post is more than double the height of a normal post, so it was pretty fiddly. I made two of these posts and am not looking forward to having to make many more. Quite doable though. These two look a bit scrappy, but they are prototypes really. Future tall posts will look a lot neater, I promise.

Pic 1 below shows my 2 new tall (physically) kitbashed 2-way posts, next to a tall 4-way post (as provided in LotDG).

Pic 2 shows the 2 new posts at the edge of the room (as I, and every sane person, would want them).

The final pic shows the tall wall fitting neatly in place. Phew, crisis averted lol.

A little late to the game, but better late than never? I've been away from the hobby for a bit while tackling real life for a while. Things are settling down now... It's a pretty simple kitbash to make the posts, but I'm glad you figured out a workable solution without having to wait for a kitbash. I whipped up the missing posts this morning and will submit them soon. Let's see if I can remember how to submit a kitbash!
