Hi, New to World Works Games stuff but done some paper modelling before. Just bought Thoumonts as I wanted to make a barn, but when I open it up in the software there doesn't appear to be any suitable tiles. No problem, I think, I can open the pdf up in Photoshop and create a new wall template. However when I try and open the pdf I get "There was an error processing the document. The file may be damaged or corrupted". Am I doing something wrong? Best regards Steve |

So, the pdf is not damaged, right ? As you are able to open it with PS... What software do you use to view pdf ? |

Hi, I can open it fine with Adobe Reader. I cannot open it with Adobe Photoshop 7.0, which is what I was looking to edit the file with. Best regards Steve |

I know that GIMP shouldn't have any trouble opening the PDFs - can you go that route? |

I try not to install/learn new programs unless I really have to. I'd prefer it if we could get to the bottom of why Adobe won't open one of it's own file formats. Best regards Steve |

What exact PDF doesn't open ? So that I can try with my version of photoshop (CS2) EDIT : Beware : Thoumonts zip file has been created under MACOS. It contains 2 directories : __MACOSX\ thoumonts_tlx\ If you try to open the pdf files in __MACOSX\ under a Windows system, it doesn't seem to work. This may be your problem... |

Hi, I tried with a couple of the walls files. Thoumont Wood Big Walls and Low rails. I tried opening it, importing it and converting it. It's definitely not the Mac version I'm trying to do it with. Thanks for helping out. edit: Just checked, it lets me open Kitbash files fine. Is there any protection on the official pdf's preventing me from opening them? Best regards Steve |

No, there is no protection. You should be able to open the pdf in photoshop. I tried "Thoumont Wood Big Walls.pdf" with Adobe Reader X, with Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Photoshop CS2 without any problem. Same with "Low Rails.pdf" You may try to reload Thoumonts, just in case the zip is corrupted ? |

Hi, Downloaded the file again and it's still the same. I had it stored on my NAS, so I figured I'd move it to my PC drive and see if it made a difference. When I uncompressed it there, the file names were green. That's weird I think, look it up and it means the files are encrypted. So I unencrypt them and try and open them again. Still the same problem. As I say they open absolutely fine in Adobe Reader, just not in Adobe PS 7.0. So, I downloaded and installed Gimp. They open fine in Gimp and I can export them to psd format and open then in Photoshop fine. This is a work around I can handle for now. I'm guessing there is some pdf/PS file format issue involved here which isn't easily corrected. What do I do about submitting my stuff as Kit bashes for other people on the site to use if they want to? Is there a thread about it somewhere? Best regards Steve |

Thanks for the links, most of my stuff is not going to meet these guidelines as I can't prove ( and in some cases don't own rights ) to images used. So they'll just have to be for my own use. However if I create anything that can be passed on I will do. Best regards Steve |
