Well, I have to start off by confessing; I have severe OCD. As such, I was observing a slight 'issue' regarding my walls stored inside the TLX storage box: ... yeah; that unwanted fan effect. It was driving me NUTS! So on my long drive home from work yesterday morning I had an epiphany. What about using those scraps of foamcore I would have normally just thrown away? ^^ I cut them into 1" by 1/4" strips (approximate) and glued them as shown above .. holding the walls in the 'correct' vertical alignment. ^^ ... placed a second wall to judge the gap, then rinse & repeat: Ahhhhh ... that's better! Now to finish off another 8 walls and this box will be complete! ![]() |

I *really* wish I could like these boxes. And what you've done there... wow. I love it. I'd totally do that. But, then I have this issue with angled walls. Double-height walls. Arc walls! Oh my. And I end up having a shoebox with a heap of stuff, 'cause lazy sometimes trumps OCD (which may mean I'm starting to win my fight against my OCD! Ha ha!) I think this idea is great tho. Maybe I'll take some time this weekend to have fun with box layout. If I make a 9"x6" box that fits in perfectly with TLX stuff, it will be wide enough for all the wall lengths. Then it's just a matter of making a modular set of trays so I can have trays for all the different wall widths (I tend to have a lot of 3" and 6", and don't need a ton of space for angled or arc walls). I made the original boxes when they were first released, but I haven't tried any of the newer boxes released. Has this kind of thing already been done? |

I thought I recalled seeing someone posting a bit about just putting those slide-walls in place at the ear tab notch so the walls hang on them like the folders in a hanging file cabinet. It eliminates the "fan effect" via gravity (not that they are heavy). Still, the scrap foamcore is a nice idea as it would keep the walls from sloshing back and forth during portage. Thanks for the tip. |

I would love to see some more time spent on storage boxes. They have much potential. |
