No. Its just way to quick to just cut the square by hand. That square is just a extra border to make cutting the tile out of the foamcore easier. You don't have to be fussy cutting the square. Freehanding it or using scissors works and is way quicker than loading up your cutter. |

What he said. Using the cutter for something this simple requires a more time and effort than just breaking out the knife. 10-20 seconds to mount on the carrier, 30 seconds to a minute to feed the machine and scan the regmarks, then 10-20 seconds to cut, another 20-30 seconds to peel the templates off the carrier sheet. If I did it by hand, I'd be finished well before the "Ready to cut" box popped up on the screen. Just plonk it on your cutting mat and make a few fast freehand cuts. You'll be done in seconds. Your hobby knife is the fastest and easiest way to do this particular task. -Mel |
