On the official releases, it would be really nice to have a version with cutlines doubled (not scores, just cuts). That's the only way I can get mine to 100% cut out the models. In my workflow, the first thing I do after ungrouping and deleting the traced image is to copy everything and paste it. Only then do I begin doing my scoring lines. I really don't want to have to manually select every cut line for every page I want to double . . . /beg |

I think this would be fine, as long as the extra set of cut lines were a different color, so those who don't need double cuts can turn that color off and get faster results. Otherwise, people who don't want the double cuts (people using 67 lb cover stock or 90 lb index stock for example) would have to either remove the lines manually or deal with the unnecessary cuts. You know, now that I think about it, you could just turn off the dashed cut lines and run the page through the cutter a second time if you need to. |

Thats pretty much what I do, I do the first cut with everything then the 2nd cut with just the cut lines again. I haven't had any misalignments yet and with the thicker cardstock (180gsm) was finding it couldn't reliably cut through 100% of time with a single pass. |

Is there a way to automatically select everything that's a certain color? That would make me happy. |

Doubling up lines from the get-go is not worth the trouble--being unable to cut through 110lb cardstock is a problem with your blade, and doubling the cut data would just cause problems for everyone else while solving a $10 problem on your end. If you're using stock heavier than 110lb, be aware that anything you can't cut in a single pass is technically too much for your machine. It's better to simply inform customers that they can go to File>Output Settings and uncheck the score lines for a second cutting pass. Even better, just buy a new blade. (IIRC, you cut thick parchment a while back--it's best to have a dedicated blade for that kind of stuff, as it won't then affect your papercrafting cutting needs.) -Mel |
