Recently bought a Silhouette Portrait. Having a major problem all the cuts are offset to the right and bottom by 1/16 inches right and 15/16 inches to the bottom. I have tried everything including the Cameo Reg marks patch and calibration, nothing fixes this problem. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong, it's driving me crazy |

Another question: what are you using for your carrier sheet? It might sound like a silly question, but I've found a LOT of my chronic problems with my cutter were, somehow, due to the carrier sheet I was using. |

I tried printing both actual size and fit to page. Actual size cuts off the reg marks at the bottom of the page (8.5x11 card stock). Have the same problem with both. I've calibrated the cutter and tried cutting with and without the carrier sheet, same result. Thinking I may have to fiddle with the cut files but really don't want to do that. Thanks for the help. |

I'll give this a shot when I get home. When I print from Studio it just prints the reg. marks and still cuts off the bottom ones. I think the Hack may work better. Really appreciate the help. |

That is a really messed up problem to be having. Not sure what else to suggest if your printer isn't printing things to proper scale. |

If, when you've printed at correct scale on the page, you still see drift - be sure to calibrate. But I must share one more thing that really frustrated me when I started - my first printer didn't print true - over the page it stretched the output. It took me quite a while to figure this out. I printed a ruler and compared it to a true ruler, and found that I was getting significant stretch. The only thing for that is a different printer (cutter calibration can compensate for some of it, but not perfectly.) Or - if you have this problem and it is only slight, learn to live with a few white edges (again, by compensating with manual edging in black/grey at construction time.) Many of the models at http://oldschooldm.com have a tiny manually-inked edge hiding somewhere, and most people think they look awesome. But - a good printer (true, and prints to edge) to go with your cutter - saves a lot of detail work. |

Just want to thank everyone for the help. I finally found a fix, it's kind of a pain but works. I used Acrobat to shift the images up 1/4 inches and they cut just fine. For some reason my cutter was not able to find the reg. marks in the original positions, no idea why. I tried both with and without carrier sheet. While a little time consuming this seems to work. Thanks again for all the help. |
