Hi Guys, Been trying to print out and cut the 6" low railings, and it is cutting through all the fold marks. I tried the file from both the Deadfall and the Thoumont's set. Anyone else having an issue with this? Anyone else using it? I may just go to using the 3" ones, as those cut fine, aren't anymore work, and are probably going to work out better in the long run. But if there is an issue you guys should probably know about it. ~J |

When I look at the .gsd file, it's obvious that whoever created it made them all cut lines and no perforations. It's pretty easy to fix yourself: 1. Open that file in Silhouette Studio. 2. Click on one of those lines. It'll automatically select them all 'cuz they're a Compound Path, so they function like a single item. 3. Go up to the Object Menu and select Release Compound Path. 4. Click on the little scissor icon in the upper right part of the toolbar. This opens the Cut Style settings. See how all those lines are red now? (if they're not red or dashed blue at this point, click on a different button and then back to the Cut Style button) 5. The red lines are cut lines and the dashed blue lines are perforation lines. Select one of the lines that is red, but should be blue, and click on the Perforate option in the Cut Style window on the right. 6. Repeat with each of the other lines. 7. When you're done, go up to File and select Save As and save it somewhere you'll be able to find it again. Note that you can't save it in a .gsd format. That's ok, though. A .studio format works perfectly fine and is used just like the .gsd files would be with your cutter--EXCEPT they usually are oriented so the TOP of the page has to be fed into the cutter first. In some cases, they've grouped several sections of those lines into multiple separate Compound Paths, so you might have to repeat steps 2 and 3 on the different sections of the cutfile. If that doesn't make sense or gives you problems, let me know. I can fix this in about 10 minutes and upload it somewhere for you. EDIT: Gah. It took longer to type the instructions than it did to just fix the file and upload it somewhere and make it accessible, so here it is: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4OwK3 ... sp=sharing Oddly enough, some of the lines that should have been perforations had 2 lines on top of each other. If I hadn't noticed something looked odd with those, this would still make a mess for you. Note that I haven't actually tested it, but it should work fine. Let me know if you have any problems with it. |
