What? Another one? Yep!

Again, I must preface: this is the prototype, and first build! That way, I don't look so bad. Plus, I was up 'til 5:30 am doing this one, so I've got sleep deprevation added to spasticity!

Anyway, the shops in SoM are going to need showcases for all their goods, right? (I used to call them display cases, but every maker of these things says otherwise) I made this one based on a design I see in almost every store out there.

First, cut and score the whole piece before anything else. Then, fold as shown:



Then, glue this side with an even coat,



And sandwich glue it like so:



Fold the sides inward, and glue the matching tabs like this:



Fold the rest of the tabs on that side, being careful to keep the faces flat. It's a bit fiddly, but if you "massage" it, it'll fold just right.



(I'm going to be doing this differently next build, and use a single piece of transparency, and remember to pre-edge before any gluing!)

Glue a strip of transparency to the inside of the face shown. Do the same for the adjacent face.



Once the transparencies are in place, hope you don't spaz out and craze the plastic with a glue-covered finger.

Then, fold them into the body of the case, and glue like shown:



Almost there! Take the bottom of the last flap and fold it into place, gluing the tiny bottom inside tabs into place like this:



Once that's dry, put glue on the inside of the remaining loose flaps, and fold it up and over the front and top of the case. Once in place, it should look like this:



Here's a shot of the inside of the case, through the not-so-crazed plastic.



The final product! Stacks of T-shirts ready for sale!



For the next build of this, I'm going to adjust the Photoshop file to make the inside flaps a bit more narrow, so not as much blank cardstock shows through.

I may also experiment with transparency shelves, to have product up higher in the case.

Okay.... Aleph, please stop before you eliminate the need for people to actually buy Mayhem Armoury! Your stuff's getting too good!

In all seriousness, the last thing I want to do is overstep my bounds. I may make one (Man, that'd be fairly easy, too. Fiddly, though.), but I'm going to refrain from posting any SoM stuff until MA's out.

I can see how CapnG might get perturbed though!

Thought of some other items to go either in MA or as mods later, hopefully no one will smack me for listing them below...

Ice Cream
Food - has a round carousel with the multiple little doors.

I'm sure there are more.

Hey Aleph - any hints when the big day will be? I'll come congratulate you in person.

Guess I'll need to take some pictures so that I can work on the geometry and possible textures for some of the things I've suggested.

I sized all of images of the fortress build and was going to add it to my models page today, but realized when I started to add it, I hadn't uploaded the pictures to my site! DOH!

Guess it will have to wait till I get home from work tonight!
