Post subject: | OT: Epic Rock as Inspiration |
Howdy all: The topic of background music for modelling or gaming has been a hot one on the forums as of late (), and I was wondering what kind of epic rock music people may/may not listen to when going about their hobbying? The reason I ask is because my fiancee, a high school art teacher (she's good, I'm not gonna lie ![]() Kashmir (Zeppelin)-so sweet Achilles' Last Stand (Zeppelin)-an epic song if ever there was one The Call of Ktulu (Metallica S&M)-one of her favorites Wherever I May Roam (Metallica S&M)-mystic type variety Where the Streets Have No Name (U2)-sweeping Exit (U2)-rather dark Anything Rush (haven't decided yet) Suggestions? Additions? Longer songs are better, and recognition doesn't hurt either. Thanks -Polycarp |

This is a litle off kilter from the actualy epic rock you guys are mentioning, but if your talking inspiration, you should check out an Australian Post-Hardcore band called . Probably the best band in the country at the moment (if your into that kind of thing). The songs can be described as epic, and as bittersweet and heart renchingly personal as they are ominus and franetic. Not sure what kind of game they would work for, have to be somthing pretty heavy and serious I wager. Particular tracks off the album to check out are "Swarming", "Long grows the list of the live and Dead Pretenders", and "What would Don Jaun Say?" Speaking of which, another band in a similar vien (albeit allot more chaotic/Apocalyptic) is USA band, . The album As the Roots Undo is such an intricatly constructed frentic wall of sound that it gets me everytime. It pulls together so many different treads and carries them effortlessly throughout the entire recording. |
