Picked this up today with a few Kit bashes.

This looks really great. The new instructions are interesting. I won't be cracking into them till later this week, so can't really comment on it.

The included Zombie Game & standees look excellent.

I can't wait to get the Manor House built.

[EDIT: Exterior door kitbashed. Turned out pretty good I think. Now I need to match it up with four different interior walls - Grey, Green, Pink and Stucco. Basic concept is just a simple fold-over, with exterior textures and door on the outside, and four different interior textures and door on the inside.]

[EDIT: All four doors done. Quick & Dirty test builds worked out fine. Now to craft one nicely for the submission picture and it's off to Aubrey with this kitbash].

My house is coming along pretty well. But while building this I'm already making plans for my mansion version 2.0 so I think this set will keep me busy for a while

Finally got to download this beauty this morning before all the staff got in and nicked all the bandwidth (for some reason I got a bad/incomplete file last night )................. I think I'm gonna enjoy this

Trouble is that its now taking my attention away from the other projects I have in progress or had planned to do next .......... Naughty WWG *spank* hahahahahahahahahaha

The Single Exterior Doors kitbash looks great, Steve!

I'm building now (nealy finished) the gran entrance and have a few sugestions -not criticism only a few thinks that can make you do it better...

The Stairs...the part that is suposed to go against the wall ... left there a tab to paste it to the wall so it wont' open (I supose that if you put the other side of the wall it will get more stable - but as I'm planing how to make modular rooms (doing only the interiors and not the exteriors) it kind of "open" when is on the table...

For the outsides of the Stairs (the 2 U with the rail) left also a tab in the part of the wall so you can paste it in the latteral walls (for the same reason that the above one)

Appart from that (and the fact that the 2nd floor has only foam in the little red latterals make that part a bit... unestable when dealt with it (not once put over)...I'm having a hell of a time building it...only thinking how to do it so I can change rooms with easy (and will steal the ideas from robby to make my plan because I want it to seem quite real as posible)

I noticed no one has talked about the gaming rules.

Arabin...you are correct the mansion is the main focus...hopefully somebody can post something in a while.....

A Brief Review

Included FREE with Shellendrak Manor, these rules come as a 5-page pdf along with a separate 5-page pdf of cardstock miniatures and counters used in the game.

The front cover and half of the last page of the rules are artwork, so the rules themselves occupy only 3.5 pages. Of those, 2.5 pages are the rules, with one page devoted to descriptions of the various game tokens (three different critters - Zombies, Giant Spiders and Cultists, and five different items - mystical amulets, healing potions, resurrection crystals, trap doors and the game winning pendant).

The game is intended for 2-4 players. Each player runs a single hunter (and the monsters when it is someone else's turn). The turn sequence is Movement, Exploration, Combat. Movement is fixed if the room is empty, or variable if there are critters. Exploration (a 2d10 die roll) will determine if there are monsters or items present, and if so, what they are.

The object of the game is to search each room and hallway of a manor, find the Duke's Pendant, and exit the manor in one piece.

Combat can be ranged or melee. Both involve rolling a d10. If ranged, you must roll higher than the number of squares to the target. If Melee, then the target ALSO rolls a d10 and the two are compared - high die roll wins.

Monsters die if they receive a wound. Hunters can take three wounds before they die (and there are healing potions and ressurection crystals which they may find to help prolong their lives). Ammo for weapons is limited, but you can obtain more during the game.

The layout of the manor is totally up to the players (whatever manor you choose to build). So the game can be short or long, depending on the number of rooms that must be searched. The pendant will automatically be in the last room searched if it hasn't turned up previously.

My one sample game played quickly. There were no rules which had me scratching my head wondering what it all meant.

The most intriguing aspect of the game is the potential for back-stabbing and greed! Players can choose to help one another when it is their turn, or they can be selfish and take actions only for themselves. Or they can help their fellow hunters until the pendant is found, and then choose to attack that hunter, grab the pendant, and make a dash for safety!

I had fun. My one sample game didn't even involve a manor, I used 2D floor tiles scattered about as my manor. I look forward to playing again.
