Good afternoon, yalls. I just made my first Sketchup map model and for my first time, I think it looks awsome. I am still trying to figure out how to model all the bridges and props and junk. I would greatly appreciate any help in this. Below is a pic of my model without any props. Enjoy Thanks in advance for your help. |

That looks great! Very clean sketchup build. Have you noticed that once you know how to build and texture the exterior, it takes almost no time to do the interior? As far as the more complex pieces, just remember that everything in the mayhem series can be done using simple geometric shapes. A lot of the items that look complex merely involve cutting out pieces of a simpler shape and making the texture match the dimensions you've selected. The work isn't difficult....it does take a bit of time though. What I've found is that I set the dimensions for the texture in photoshop, bring it into sketchup and paste it onto the basic cube (or whatever). Then I cut out all of the white space and use the push/pull tool and eraser to clean it up. You've an excellent start with what I've seen from your pictures. Zipdaddy |
