I've pretty much always struggled with storage of my builds. I'm not sure if anyone has done this before but I incorporated magnets into one of my recent Mayhem buildings:
Normal looking build (er for me all my buildings are 5x5)
Lift the lid and pull off the front wall
Flat packed ready for storage/transport
Few structural tests for those wondering about strength
Upside down
Approximately 550grams of weight on the 2nd floor (1lb approx)
I added the inside more to see if it would work as now you could game from the street right into the building (Bashed from mayhem PD).
The walls are 3mm foam board and the magnets are all small rare earth magnets, surprisingly cheap around 20c AUD each. The middle floor is held up by excessively strong magnets (rated at 1.7kg of lift against 3mm steel) but it was all I had left to trial with. The washers need blacking in with some black enamel paint
, Im trying to hunt down some little squares of steel I could buy and use instead of washers.
