Ok, so I'm nearly motivated enough to spruce up my Aerotech mapsheet. I'd looove to turn it into a US kitbash, but there may be some IP snags involved. If it doesn't work out, I'll just make it for me. So... This is what needs editing. The AT2 rules have one edge of the sheet as the high/low atmospheric border, so I created a planetary surface. I'd love to make curvature, but the sheet needs to tile. The atmospheric effects go out six hexrows (doublechecks rules... yep six rows) to the atmospheric interface where all the fancy shmancy reentry jive happens, ergo the purple band. I'm practicing some photoshop techniques to hew closer to Denny's Sathrican planet, but I'm not getting good results on a few things. The smoky gasses look great and I've been trying a series of wave distortions and liquid filters to get the same look, but I'm not having much luck so far. What did you do Denny? Thanks in advance, Bedwyr |

Bedwyr - Traveller is a Sci-fi RPG game. The planet maps are hex-based that look quite similar to the map you posted. (at least that is how I am interpreting Highland Pipers comment ![]() -Pel |

Ok, here's the project so far. Again, it conforms to Aerotech 2 rules, is the size of one standard Battletech map, and is more or less an homage to Uncharted Space. Whaddy'all think? (no nebulae yet, though I've taken a few stabs at Denny's technique) Oh, it's also supposed to be tilable, but with enough lighting and lens flares it might look odd having two light sources next to each other. Suggestions? Any suggestions and comments, especially from Photoshop jockeys welcome. |
