a little something i've been messing with, but i'm not sure about the texture on this, does it look like a ship?(or rather part of one) keep in mind it's not final, it's just a repeating pattern, but is close to final(it'll look less repetitive) the floor is from retrofit and the container is a kitbash(i think slymoon did it, but i'm not sure, who ever did make it: excellent work) comments are very welcome |

Looks good so far (although the pic is a little small...). Height and width look OK to me, but as far as color go... it's cliché, but when I think container ship, I think black superstructure/hull with a red bottom/keel. But that's just me... ![]() |

ok here's a shot of the completed hull(the sides have the final texture, the front section needs some work)(again, it's a thumbnail pic) it's rather tricky to build though, due to the raised bits and large tabs |

Ya the large models really need have a ton of foamcore reinforcement. |

I like the shape and the textures give the right feel for it, but as others have said, the deck needs to be on foamcore for stability. This will be fun to watch as you develop it further... can't wait to see the end product. Arabin |

Here's a link to a much smaller model, but the templates might be a help to figuring out how the whole thing could be built: *Removed by moderator. Please see message below* |

I'll be bashing a bulk cargo ship soon. Slymoon. Can't quarantee the results except I will be working on it only in full daylight (trying to avoid any strange twisting of more models). Having made two junk trucks late at night was enough for me. IF my plan works ??? ... I'll borrow my sister's digital camera and post pictures. Heck, if it flops I'll show some pictures ... well, maybe ... such an act of humility could be sooo humiliating! I have a plan though and it just might work. I anticipate it will be fun in any case. |

well, attempt 2 failed, not as bad as attempt 1, but still not good and if the next way to build goes as bad i think i'll just have re-do the whole thing ![]() the idea for the next try is to build 2 seperate pieces: the floor and the half inch rim, and the outer hull, which would be then sloted together the cabin bit works, but damn the windows on that train ![]() |
