HI to all, Whew, I am finally working on First Light. Too many real world things demanding my attention.... First off the ship will be named the Mollie Sugden. Fans of the Britcom "Are You Being Served" may recognize this name. I like it, it is just a perfect name for a ship. I plan to download a pic of her and use it on the bow of the ship with the name in script. So the first change I've made is attaching the Captain's cabin to the door of the Bridge. Then I thought ... If this is a successful captain he might have spent some of his "legally" obtained wealth on a little luxury for himself. So I have decided to panel the walls with wood. After looking through WW products ( where else you might ask!) I decided to use the mast supports from the Maiden. I will use lower decking from the Maiden for the floor. He will have a bookcase with rare tomes from around the galaxy from the interiors set. I may put a wooden table in also. The galley will have a private door to the captain's cabin. So this starts the mind to running, why not a "theme" ship. Such as a Gothic First Light with the interior from the Gothic set. Then a medieval first light with interiors from the pubs and inns set. etc etc etc Would flying the Jolly Roger be too much? D7 |

Ok, I finally did it ! I managed to copy the canopy graphic for the R36 to Print Shop Pro, mirrored it and printed on plain paper (at 24%, seems this is the magic number for 1:1 scaling between Acrobat and PSP ) an interior for my opening canopy on the R36. Love learning to do new things and ya, I am much slower at this than about anyone else here . Also found a GREAT solution to the clear gluing problem for the windows...Testor's Clear Parts Cement & Window Maker. Seems to be a thinned white glue but not runny at all. Dries clear and really nice almost needle point for application. I know, hardly even a speed bump in kitbashing, but I need to start somewhere as I have some real ideas for other changes . Aren't these great , ok, meds time, sorry. |

Outlaw...Dont know what version of PSP you are using...but I just downloaded the free trial from Corel...and it opens files perfectly..(i.e no need for scaling) straight from the PDF..you might want to try that I have to try some of that glue...would make a lot of stuff I'm planning easier..thanks for the heads up on it:) As for the kitbashing fun...I find Im having more fun with that than I ever would have beleived...these sets are just so nice to work with...I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with in your builds (always looking to Ste...er , get inspiration from other projects...lol) Happy Bashing! |
