So I'm working on an oversized kit bash for streams (hinterlands) I'm working on a 9"x12" panel for terraclips but it could be easily adapted for TLX (over-sized board?) here is my question.. how the heck did <name person> do that water effect? I basically took streams and split them in two... and now I have a 3" section I need to fill with a water effect any help would be grand |

Can you liberally clone from the river end tile in the Hinterland set? There's not a whole lot of other tiles with more than a little texture to work from. |

One possibility, if you get something that kind of works, might be to just make a whole new river texture rather than blend with the WWG river texture. If it's "close" then perhaps the only place to blend would be in any transition tiles from the standard WWG to yours. I don't know if the Canals water or the Atlantis water would be any use to you as a starting point - it's not very river-like... |

I think it looks good! Would it help to shrink (compress) the water horizontally so the ripples are more vertical? Would that give it a more flowing appearance? |

Have you checked the kitbashes ? There are a few "river" bash for Hinterland. Some may have larger rivers, that you could use... |

You'll notice that the river bashes I did have very narrow rivers. Nunspa is running into the same issue I ran into - there's simply not enough texture to work with to really widen things. I even tried adding an extra 1" to the width of the rivers, and it just looked too cloned. I will admit to not trying THAT hard. Still, trying to get an extra 2 or 3 inches of river texture... I think Nunspa is going in the right direction. |

Another little detail... If you can clone some of the shoreline to make it wider and make the edges of the water more transparent, it might blend better. You can even blend some pebbles under the middle of the stream if you want to make it appear more shallow. |

Ok take a look I messed the waves (compressed them some) and added ocean ripple... I also added a blur... it's not photo realistic but I think it looks good what do you all think? |

I kinda liked 1.0 better, I think, but this is for you not me. It's also hard to compare them - you replaced the old one...  I very much like the idea of a wider river tile that would work well on a 6" tile, but also between some hinterland cliff walls! Keep up the good work. If you have no interest in doing a TLX version to submit, but you'd be willing to hand stuff to someone who would, you know how to reach me...

That flow is looking great. I hope this suggestion isn't too late: Rivers tend to meander. This undercuts the outside of the curve creating small 'cliffs', and deposits beaches on the inside of each bend (see ). You could get that same effect simply by moving the rocks and water down the image 1/4" or so relative to the grass. This would make the tile look much more realistic and, incidentally, is exactly how rivers do it (the 's' shape flow moves downstream under cutting the overlying terrain as it goes). |

This is excellent. One of the things that irked me about the Hinterland streams was the fact that they were just that; a stream and not a river. It always felt as if they were in the set so that people could pretend they had a river that was treacherous to cross. You've created a proper river and the final picture suggests a power that people need to be aware of. Well done Nunspa |

I remember doing smething like this a while ago for our game. I'll have to dig it up as I think that it might compliment Nunspars work well. It made a really big river (multi-tile)., but I honestly don't remeber if I ever cleaned it up for public consumption. |

first test build I like the oversize panels... I keep thinking someone should look at doing the same for TLX.... yes you need an 11x17 color printer.. but if you are only making a few of these getting them printed is a viable option I'm lucky.. I own my own company and use a bizhub color printer |
