Okay, really *not* wanting to cast a bit of negativity here, but... after looking at these a couple of times, I realized the hanging rope on each of these is stuck (wedged?) between two timber poles. I would have thought it should be looped over and *around* one of them. My thought process anyway, if I were the orc hanging it (them) up. But then, orcs tend to 'force the issue' anyway, right?

Alternatively, they could have a big fat knot on the other side, so it could be wedged between the two posts.  I guess we haven't seen the other side of the walls to know! I'm just glad that, unlike EVERY painting in my house, they aren't hung slightly crooked. Now THAT would drive my OCD nuts.

Perhaps they're hanging on a peg jammed into the gap between the posts - that would save having to put something to the other side of the wall as well. p.s. or even better, they could be hanging off a branch stub sticking out of one of the posts. "Where shall we put the banner, Boss?" "Stick it on the wall over there. Don't care where you put it - long as everyone can see it and know I'm boss, that'll do." p.p.s. Seemed odd putting all that punctuation into the Orc talk, but that's what it took. |

First : the palisade will probably be kitbash for Hinterland forest, and not swampwood, as this is the base set for the logs used, so the banners will probably follow the same direction. I like the "peg" and "simple loop" ones best. I just can't wrap my head around the "wood bar" - the physics seem wrong. But maybe that's because my brain is fried from fighting an uncooperative laptop and failing figuring out how to do what I want in GIMP .... but that's a whole different post thread. Just to clarify, the first photo (the one with the knot) is from the back of the palisade. The front would be the same as my first post. Second photo shows an alternative of front and back. In all case, there is a wooden bar, that holds the banner in place... |

@oldschooldm - I'm not a moderator here, so the only thing I can do is politely ask. Can you take this kind of stuff elsewhere? You certainly don't have to, but it just doesn't seem constructive, and it's getting old. I'm still kitbashing this stuff to the best of my ability because I enjoy it, and I still prefer TLX to anything else out there, even though I've put my money behind a bunch of different producers in a substantial way. If you're not liking things around here, why not focus your attention on the forums that seem to be more aligned with your philosophy? If you feel compelled to rail against the system that's set up, or the people who set it up, how about starting a thread for that rather than letting it seep in to threads like this where people are trying to constructively bring material to fruition? Again - I'm just asking because frankly it's casting an annoying shadow over attempts to do something new and fun. If there were people around here to actually negotiate with, then I'd say have at it. As it is, it's just a bunch of sour grapes aimed at people who are trying to make the best of it. |
