Maybe just a detail: using the same texture for the walls and the roof leads to a low contrast between that two elements; You may try to add some leaves or weathering to the roof to increase the distinction.

I'll think about it, but it's a lot of work, and I'm running thin on enthusiasm for rebuilding the roofs AGAIN. It's all trained monkey work. http://paperdungeon.blogspot.com/2014/1 ... -redo.html That post kind of shows the difference between the original texture which I don't like, and the newer texture that, to me, works better. I will track down a leaf brush and splatter some on the roof pieces to see if it boosts my enthusiasm. I wanted to mention too that I apparently didn't do an interior texture for the round roof. Does anyone care? I'm not entirely sure what I'd do in there, but maybe a double-thick roof would feel nicer. Just more work, I suppose. (for me). |

The more important is that you keep your enthusiasm, so don't bother about my suggestion. It's already very good as it is. If it's no fun for you, don't do it. |

For interior, what about just mimicking the exterior texture? No reason to over-work things. |

The thing is, I *swear* at some point I made an interior template... I just can't find it.  I was thinking of taking the interior cross bars an wrapping it into a circle for the interior. It'd take some doing. On the other hand, you will *NEVER SEE* the underside of the pieces. The older set didn't have textures underneath as well, right? No work on things tonight. Watched an episode of Game of Thrones with the Mrs. instead. Hopefully I'll be able to print and cut some more stuff tomorrow night. |

Ok. So, I built all of the random pieces I had printed out, and I have a completely assembled 6" tile with round hut. I'm not going to bother with adding moss, leaves or vines to the roof. I've looked at the original texture, and it really doesn't add THAT much to the roof. I think what I've got is good enough. Time to start printing and assembling some roof bits this weekend! |

My time has been divided amongst too many things, and I haven't given this nearly the attention it deserves. I'm organizing the cutfiles now for this set, and I'll get it submitted this month. It won't contain my new roof bits, mostly because I think they still need to be iterated on a little bit. I actually think they're almost there. I need to draw some cutlines on the angled pieces that span a 2-way truss. It turns out, at least for the small trusses, that it's too snug to slide the truss in place. After some fiddling, I decided to simply cut the cover piece into two sections, and that lets the flap over the truss lift up enough to accommodate. If there's someone who'd like to preview the latest round of roof improvements, PM me. I'm not expecting someone to go and build an entire village to try things out, but I'd appreciate being able to build at least a couple roof pieces over the course of a couple days. If you already have some trusses built (like, Thoumonts) then you'll be able to try out the hut roofs on top of a Thoumonts building without having to make new trusses! There are a couple specific things I'd like to get feedback on. |

Congratulations on your bundling. In regards to the roofs being double-sided; that feels like it would be wasted effort. If it isn't essential to the structural integrity of the piece then 99% of users are going to ignore it and just make single-sided roofs like the original set had. I already have TONS of Swampworks built, probably my favorite WWG set ever, next to Mars Stattion, but I am still looking forward to what new things you have done with it.
