Thanks guys, keep them coming please. Also, please post a list of your own tutorials (or as many as you can remember/find), as there are now so many and some are embedded in the middle of other threads that I need your help to find them all. Don't worry about quality. We can deal with that after we've got a full list of what's out there. Plus, tutorials/instructions you've done that you may not think are that great may be just what someone else wants/needs. |

I was wondering, can anyone tell me how I can make templates from scratch? I'm wanting some tangibles for non-standard currencies and all i'm seeing is how to re-texture pre-existing kits. |

I've tried using Google Sketchup to model things, and it *does* let me measure edges and stuff, but I haven't been able to really spent the time to use it effectively (I used it in conjunction with PePaKuRa). When I want to make something in 3d, I usually carve out the faces of the shape from cardstock and tape them together. Then, I flatten the shape by cutting as few of the taped edges as I can. I then draw the shape again with cut and score lines, and I draw in the tabs. Then I go into GIMP and draw the thing. Sometimes I'll actually draw the cut and score lines using Silhouette Studio (you can use this even if you don't have a robo-cutter) and save that image as a starting point. 3d shapes like bars should be a fun starting project. I did a quick google search for "papercraft chest" and one of the images found led me to a model of a chest with a stack of gold bars - it might be something you could scale up or retexture (or both) to meet some of your needs. |

Sketchup has really easy to follow tutorials for learning how to use it. I just started going through those yesterday to learn it. |

I've been learning Sketchup the last few days, so I think it should be relatively easy to do: 1. Create the larger base. 2. Use the Offset tool to create the top as if it's just a surface on the base. 3. Use the Move tool while holding the Alt key to raise that top surface to the height you want. That does what they call "Autofolding" to automatically draw in all the lines to keep those 2 surfaces connected. |

Thanks Ninevah, mproteau, and sdavies2720 for your suggestions, they helped a great deal. Any of you guys happen to know the exact dimensions for the sovereigns and half-sovereigns in the Coins of the Realm set? I haven't had a chance to print any of them up and I want the Adamantite and Mithril ingots i'm working on to stack together with the bars of WWG's set. |
