This thread is for people to post fan-created cutfiles (for automated cutters) for WWG sets and kitbashes that were not created with automated cutters in mind.
FYI, some WWG sets were created without official cutfile support, others (especially older sets) may have formats incompatible with modern cutters (e.g. require cuts outside cutter margins).

The cutfiles posted here are fan created works - use them at your own risk.

Please use this thread for posting cutfiles and their instructions only.
Do not post copies of WWG pages/images (except for low-res images included as part of the instructions).
To keep this thread tidy, please conduct in a separate thread any discussion about cutfiles posted here. (If you need to edit a post here and can't, contact a moderator and we'll do it for you.)

Cutfiles can be posted as compressed .zip attachements. When posting cutfiles please include the following in your post:
1. Which set and page each cutfile is for.
2. Instructions for using the cutfile, including how to register the cutter against the printed sheet
3. Any known problems with the cutfile (e.g. manual cutting required for some areas)

Squid from Atlantis -

The Atlantis Giant Squid looked very intimidating to me - it was one of the projects that inspired me to get a cutter in the first place! So - these are very, very early cutfiles that I made using the built-in autotrace function in Silhouette Studio. I don't use that feature anymore (I always hand-trace now.) So, you'll need to edge in black, but it still turns out awesome! [I'm still looking for my build pix - it was more than a year and a half ago...)

Anyway - my pattern has been to post the README file contents in the publication post.

You will need to download a copy of that product to use these correctly (see the instructions below) the artwork is not included to protect the rights of the copyright holders.

These cutfiles were created with Silhouette Studio version 2.7.6 by OldSchoolDM @ the WorldWorksGames forums: http://www.worldworksgames.com/forum/

Instructions:
Atlantis (Giant Squid) is distributed as several 1-page PDFs, but they do not have the required registration marks to work with the cutter.

In order to get the registration marks in the correct place relative to the cutting lines in these files, you will need to print from within the Studio program itself after merging the artwork.

Step one: Get each PDF page into individual PNG files, so Studio can read them. There are several choices of ways to do this:
- If you have Adobe Acrobat Pro, split and reformat the pages one at a time by choosing: Save As > Image > PNG.
- If you don't have Acrobat Pro, another means to move PDF -> PNG is using Photoshop or the GIMP editor. When you open a PDF, you can specify which pages to import. Be sure to set the resolution to 300 DPI on the import dialog! Once it is open, save the page with a .PNG file (by typing in that suffix), no compression.

Now you need to merge the PNG files with their cutfiles to get the registration marks right when you print...

Step two: Now you have PNG files for each page, start Studio and then open one of them (you won't see the PNG files by default in the open dialog, click the file-type pop-down and chose PNG to see them).
Once you see the image on simulated carrier sheet, you may see it rotated 90-degrees (not fitting on the sheet), just click Portrait on the Page control to rotate the carrier sheet to match.
Next choose Merge from the file menu and select the matching cutfile page. You should see red-lines overlaying the image, they probably won't align properly at first.

Step three: Align the image to the cutlines. Zoom in 3-4 times by clicking on the +-magnifier at the top of the screen.
The lines are in the correct place, it is the image that needs to move to match. Click on the image (including white area) somewhere, and use the arrow keys to shift the image until it matches the cut lines. I'd save the cutfile at this point.

Step four: Print the file and cut! Choose the printing option from within Studio - either from the File menu or as the first option after clicking on the Cut icon at the top of Studio - it will include the registration marks from the cutfiles. Then you know the drill, mount to carrier sheet and cut then edge and assemble!

Post subject:  Cutfiles: Fort from Legend of Skull Cove
Though the Legend of Skull Cove is retired, there were several models in it that I wanted to use for my run of Goodman Game's (photo play-through posted at http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/vie ... 4069a11463 )

In particular I wanted to build a scaled up (150%) tower from the set for and encounter on a "rickety tower" that was the roost for two Griffins and their handler...




It was a great encounter...

I also built the awesome catamaran in this set, but am having problems finding the cutfiles, but I didn't want to delay this set going out (I can take forever to find things, and work is calling...)

Citizens of Himmelveil II cutfiles

1. This is a complete set of cutfiles for the Citizens of Himmelveil II.
2. Instructions are provided in the README contained in the attached zip file.
3. Be aware that page 7 of the set did not fit within the safe cutting area, so I've created two cutfiles for the standees on that page. However, you will need to create separate images from that page to use those cutfiles. The other pages work fine without additional editing.

If you have any issues with the cutfiles, please PM me so I'll be notified of the issue.

Cutfiles for the Maiden of the High Seas by WorldWorksGames, available at http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/in ... product=24
You will need to download a copy of that product to use these correctly (see the instructions below) the artwork is not included to protect the rights of the copyright holders.

These cutfiles were created with Silhouette Studio version 2.8.x by a team of folks including, in alphabetical order: BigBadBull, mproteau, Ninevah, OldSchoolDM from the WorldWorksGames forums: viewtopic.php?f=62&t=12366

Instructions:
The Maiden of the High Seas is distributed as several muli-page PDFs, but they do not have the required registration marks to work with the cutter.

In order to get the registration marks in the correct place relative to the cutting lines in these files, you will need to print from within the Studio program itself after merging the artwork.

Step one: Get each PDF page into individual PNG files, so Studio can read them. There are several choices of ways to do this:
- If you have Adobe Acrobat Pro, split and reformat the pages one at a time by choosing: Save As > Image > PNG.
- If you don't have Acrobat Pro, another means to move PDF -> PNG is using Photoshop or the GIMP editor. When you open a PDF, you can specify which pages to import. Be sure to set the resolution to 300 DPI on the import dialog! Once it is open, save the page with a .PNG file (by typing in that suffix), no compression.

Now you need to merge the PNG files with their cutfiles to get the registration marks right when you print...

Step two: Now you have PNG files for each page, start Studio and then open one of them (you won't see the PNG files by default in the open dialog, click the file-type pop-down and chose PNG to see them).
Once you see the image on simulated carrier sheet, you may see it rotated 90-degrees (not fitting on the sheet), just click Portrait on the Page control to rotate the carrier sheet to match.
Next choose Merge from the file menu and select the matching cutfile page. You should see red-lines overlaying the image, they probably won't align properly at first.

Step three: Align the image to the cutlines. Zoom in 3-4 times by clicking on the +-magnifier at the top of the screen.
The lines are in the correct place, it is the image that needs to move to match. Click on the image (including white area) somewhere, and use the arrow keys to shift the image until it matches the cut lines. I'd save the cutfile at this point.

Step four: Print the file and cut! Choose the printing option from within Studio - either from the File menu or as the first option after clicking on the Cut icon at the top of Studio - it will include the registration marks from the cutfiles. Then you know the drill, mount to carrier sheet and cut then edge and assemble!

it seems the original link for the single file for the Maiden Cutfiles isn't working anymore, so here's a new one. I made sure it includes the couple of last minute corrections that oldschooldm mentioned.
